My husband and I went for the first time, my husband was starving, they will tell you they have tapas style, but they serve a lot of food, we had the tuna tartar for appetizer it was delicious and very good size, we also order fried yucca and it was great, not greasy at all. My husband had the pork and I had 2 tacos, let me tell you that was a lot of fun. I highly recommend this place. They were busy and they had one server, but he had helped, he got busier towards the end. Not his fault, the restaurant needs to hire more servers.
I've been to Padre twice in the last three weeks, and enjoyed it both times. Their happy hour is great $7 for really good and unusual drinks. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgable, and helped us select drinks and food. Three of us shared steak tips, lomo saltado, and grilled broccoli, and all were excellent. The churro bites were a little raw and doughy in the middle, but they tested great, and there were enough for 3 of us. I will definitely go back.
was my first time in padre. a couple of dinge distracted quite from the experience. the smoking a few doors down was their serious music, so padre’s outdoor dining area (quite nice) was not so pleasant. I also ordered a cadillac margarita, which was very bland, not-distinktiv. the chips and guacamole as well as their stylized lomo-saltado were very nice.
Padre's vibe is extremely cool and fits well into this urban area of Long Beach. I loved the decorations, and the cocktails were well crafted. The food portions are smaller than expected, but still filling and of great quality nevertheless. Although I went for brunch, this would be a great place to hang out on a weekend evening.

First time here and we 'll be back. Really terrific, fresh, flavorful food of central Mexico-not your typical "Mexican "food-this is elevated without being pretentious. Great service on top of it all. Note-they call them tapas/shared plates but the portions were very generous-each could have been a meal alone.
padre should be open on Monday at 11 o'clock. we waited outside until 11:25 and no one unlocked the doors. we saw that one of the workers went to the building at 10:50 and double checked with it that the doors are open at 11 o'clock, and she answered yes.
We love coming here! One of our favorite places in LB. Thanks for another memorable night.
