First, the smell as you approach the shop is incredible and has your mouth watering before you even enter. This is an old school, classic donut shop with recipes that never go out of style. The slight crispness on the outside gives the donut something you didn’t think was needed but you’re then greeted with a billowing fluffiness of donut goodness with classic flavor profile to match. The only donut that didn’t hit the 5* mark was the Boston Crème as the filling was not thick or flavorful enough. The staff was fantastic and friendly. This will become a regular weekend spot for me. Pao's may be the best donut in a town full of great choices. It's cash only and has a drive through, but if you don't know what you want make sure to go inside. They are an old school style place. My favorite is probably the cinnamon sugar cake donut, but they are known for their apple fritters which are also amazing.

Great selection, friendly staff, and must importantly delicious donuts!! Very reasonable prices as well. I would, and will absolutely be coming back for more. Tacoma has many donut options, and these guys are one of the top tier spots for sure!!

Top-notch donuts. my favorite is the cake donut with roasted coconut topping. do not accept cash cards. I remember when this place was a dollar a donut, their prices are not much more reasonable at $1.50 from the door. highly recommended.

The first time we go today, but definitely again, the staff was friendly, and the donuts are really good, and great prices especially for the size of them.
