Pappadeaux used to be my go to easy fix when It came to Creole style food, until recently. If you frequent this restaurant on Pasquinelli Dr. make sure you hold your breath while ordering, you'll never know when your favorites will be taken off the menu. I was devastated to find that their most popular Lobster Bisque soup was no longer on the menu. My disbelief got the best of me, as I went back and forth with the bartender, he couldn't even rationalize the change. The restaurant is extremely loud and chaotic, making it necessary to raise your voice just to communicate with the people beside you. Getting our water refilled was nearly impossible, and it took quite a while just to place our order. As for the food, it was good—nothing extraordinary, but well-prepared. I particularly appreciated the fried items; the batter was perfectly done and not overly thick, which I really enjoyed.
I heard great things about this place, but the food was alright. Felt a bit overpriced for everything but you do get large portion sizes. I ordered the rainbow trout and it was too salty for my taste. My friend ordered the gumbo and it seemed to be a little watered down a little. I didn't order any of the drinks. However the place was packed so maybe it was just my dish. Service was great!
Stumbled across Pappadeaux and was shocked that a location existed in Illinois. I frequently ate at Pappadeaux while living in Atlanta and loved it. This location is great as well..... still pricey. Delicious Cajun food! The Crawfish Étouffée is really similar to my grandma's, and that earns them 5 stars. The frog legs and alligator appetizers are so yummy. Oysters are always fresh. Very soft spot in my heart for PappDeaux. I wish they'd open a location in Southern CA!
Fun atmosphere with terrific food! Get some oysters to start. The filet was cooked perfectly and was very tender. The turtle brownie for dessert is delicious and big enough to share.
I had a wonderful experience at the restaurant. The drinks were enjoyable, though they were a bit more expensive than at most places. The food and dessert were absolutely delicious.
The restroom requires regular upkeep. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the food is excellent.
