This is the second Hungarian restaurant in Calgary and it offers several choices that I have been looking for.It is in a strip mall downtown with limited parking space shared by several businesses. My son and I were there the other day and when we walked into the restaurant at a little after 6pm on a Friday evening, we were the only customers. We were quickly seated and out drink orders were taken and rapidly brought to our table. There are only 2 soup choices on the menu and I ordered the goulash soup (I love soup in all shapes and sizes) and, when it arrived with a small bread roll, it was tasty and full of carrots, homemade noodles and lots and lots of tender cooked beef. Yummy. My son orde...

The bar was set high when I went for lunch with a friend. I have a Hungarian background and grew up on that style of cooking and compare all Hungarian dishes to the home made tastes of my extended family. My friend and I tried several dishes which I found both delicious and authentic. The Goulash soup was flavorful, richly seasoned and full with tender morsels of beef. Special of the day was Vadas Hus, a very traditional dish of "cut with a fork tender" slice of beef, large dumplings and a rich, slightly tangy sauce made from pureed vegetables which flavor is difficult to get right. They nailed it and it was as good as I've had in Budpest recently. The stuffed pepper was large and perfectly c...

It seems to me this is the kind of place an eastern european person would like to find with it's dark and slightly dated interior and hungarian child outfits and brass art on the walls. If you're nostalgic this is a great place for you.I can't tell you if this is authentic hungarian or not but the people running it are definitely european and the food is an outstanding assortment of heavy, gravy rich dishes. There is lunch menu but the full menu is also available and we ordered as much as we could for lunch - goulash soup (beef, dumplings, potatoes in a fantastic hearty broth), cabbage rolls, stuffed bell pepper, schnitzel and dessert and all of it was excellent. The schnitzel is pounded thi...

The food was alright. I had bakonyi marhaszelet, which translates into beef slices with bacon. It is true a beef roast cannot be prepared in 10 min, so it had to be cooked previously. The sauce could ssemed to have been pre-made. It could be fresher. I am not sure the dish was authentic, based on Google researches. Hungarian websites use pork chops in the recipe, not beef.It was good for a one-time visit. Reserva una mesa ahora

This new restaurant offers mainly traditional Hungarian food along with other European dishes. The food is delicious! They offer large servings, and are generous with protein portions. As well as, the prices are very reasonable. The restaurant itself is small and lacking decor, but the staff are very helpful and the food is worth the visit!

The food here is delicious and quite reasonably priced. Generous portions of schnitzel and spaetzle. The server is very hospitable and friendly. We were here for dinner, and would like to try some of the lunch menu, too!

The owners are so nice and the food is wonderfully authentic. We had the hortobagy and felt like we were right back in Budapest.
