Only restaurant inside 285, with prices under $30/person, that you can go and not see any people of color. There was a 20-30 minute wait. The manager came to everyone but us to ask if they wanted a drink while waiting. Waited 15 minutes and 8 seconds to be acknowledged by someone after being seated. Took another 10 minutes for the waiter to bring water. So we 're here nearly an hour before we even get water. Granted they were busy, but everyone else seemed to be getting waited on. Soup of the day was lamb stew. You could get it as a side or friggin soup of the day, which is what I wanted. The waiter with the ponytail down to his but did that thing where they push you to get the cheaper order because they don 't think blacks have any money, what good waiter does that in an inexpensive restaurant unless there was some bias involved. Now, I know what ya 'll Vista Grove, 10% Republicans of DeKalb are saying at this point, but I go there all the time with no problems. You don 't look like me. It took another 20 minutes to get our order. My husband ordered the lamb stew as well. Well he never got his and mine came with the meal instead of before the meal. It was ground lamb (I guess), with a few bits of cabbage. That 's soup, not stew. Trout sandwich didn 't have much trout. The pasta pappardelle with house sausage and coconut curry was the only reason they didn 't get a 1-star. Crowd seemed to pretty much know one another so it is a neighborhood restaurant, most likely lower level CDC and Emory employees. But ya 'll don 't have to worry I stick to downtown Decatur, my neighborhood, though I will say their kids are better behaved than the Decaturites, lol. We were there for nearly 3 hours and would have left, but kept hoping it would get better. Worse experience in a restaurant in a long time. I 've had better service in a restaurant in Buford, ga in Forsyth County.

Let me start by saying I have been dying to try this place. Move nearby in June and it looks so inviting. After checking the menu it was a done deal. My son is an Executive Chef . Going to lunch or any other meal with him is always fascinating. He tastes and sees things I don 't. This place is outstanding. Service was friendly and prompt. He had the shaved lamb sandwich, with a side of roasted beets and feta. I had the flash fried north carolina trout sandwich with slaw. We shared the local mushroom appetizer, and the panna cotta for dessert. Complete quiet at our table except for the oh this is so good . If you love good food please check this place out. You will be so glad you did.

Pea Ridge does a great job in an interesting place. Located in a parking lot off Lawrenceville Highway (ITP), it looks like shack with a little garden. Inside you'll find a well stocked bar and casual seating. Wear your shorts and sandals, no need to dress up. My husband had the catch of the day which was delicious. It was cooked perfectly and was truly boneless. I did a tapas style meal, with the appetizer shrimp and grits as my main course. We also had the mushrooms. If you like mushrooms, you have to try these. just awesome. And, BTW, the service was excellent too.

Pea Ridge is a favorite. Always our choice when we head home from shopping in Tucker. I love the warm potato salad, which is really fingerling potatoes with cashews and a savory sauce. Today the special was a roast beef panini with Gouda and au jus. Needed tomatoes, but good overall.
