Last November, I suffered a severe left ankle fracture and my partner injured her right foot recently. As a result, last Friday we decided to order takeout from Pennington Plaice. We had previously visited Green Lane, but they do not offer delivery services. We both ordered cod, chips, mushy peas, and curry sauce. Unfortunately, we were not satisfied with the quality of the food, particularly the fish which was underwhelming. The prices were also higher than expected, so I would not recommend this fish and chips restaurant to others.
We were regulars when Martin owed the chip shop and have had good food here since but the place can be hit and miss. Today was the worst ever. Ordered 3 large fish with small chips also peas gravy. An order we’ve had regularly so we no what fish we should have been given. Fish was small dry over cooked, covered in dry hard batter, part of the batter had no fish, chips oily and cold. 3 meals costing £20 most of which went in the bin. Won’t use this chippy again
Ordered steak pie , pas and chips , plus meat and potato pie pease and chips. However we received one lot of gravy and one peas. Meat and potato pie was fine, but the steak pie had almost no filling at all, just a smear of something with a few shreds of beef. We have ordered from here before and were very happy, but this time they let themselves down. Surprised they got a 2023 award.
Great arrangements for social distancing and very clean Last Saturday we went fish dry and nearly all the chips were bitty. Thinking this was a one off as food in past always been very good. Went again today and exactly the same as last week fish over cooked chips bitty and hard left most of them.

So I order of the Uber eats website and when I got it the food was really badly burned and the chips was dark brown and made me ill had to report this place as it wasn't right for them to sell chips like this no refund what so ever they should be shutdown for what they had did.
We recently tried a takeout order for three of us, and unfortunately, we were all disappointed with the quality. While the last order I had was delicious, this time the chips were very gritty and we ended up leaving most of it uneaten.
I decided to try this fish and chip shop after hearing they won an award. Unfortunately, the fish and chips were just average - nothing special, a bit dry and tasteless. Any recommendations for a good fish and chip shop?
Ordered food through uber,the order was short ,I rang the chippy and a member of staff drive to my house with the rest of order ,not many people do this ,I was so grateful.the good is lovely every time we order.

Great food, great staff plus they deliver, another good chippy, Worth a visit, very friendly. Highly recommended.
