Pennyroyal Station

The restaurant was incredibly loud and felt overcrowded. Since it was a rainy evening, the garden was closed and all guests were indoors, creating a cramped atmosphere. Fortunately, they were able to accommodate our reservation for an outdoor table by giving us a spot inside. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, but unfortunately, the food didn’t meet my expectations. I ordered the rabbit jambalaya while the others in my group had burgers. By the end of the night, I found myself overwhelmed by the noise—people were quite loud, and the background music only added to the chaos. The high ceiling contributed to the sound echoing around the space.

My fiancé and I went here early today (after reading multiple reviews so we knew what we were in for ???? . The food was great! From temperature, to taste, to portion size, we both enjoyed our meal a lot! And, the service we got was nice too. The menu is compact, but that gives them the ability to focus in on and excel at everything they make. You?re definitely getting a lot out of each time you order too! I had a delightful solo brunch at the bar on a lovely Sunday, surrounded by a charming and well-lit interior, complemented by a fantastic playlist. The shrimp and grits were tasty, although the sauce struck me as a bit greasy at first, and I wasn't a fan of its texture. However, the flavors were spot on! I’m looking forward to exploring more items on the menu!

Visited on a Tuesday early evening for the first time and was very happy with our experience. Service was great and so were the drinks. I had a Green Goddess (highly recommended and we had a fried fish Sammy. The fried chicken did NOT disappoint! Street view of the DC line as well. This is one of my new favorite southern style restaurant in the DC area. The best part of this station is its setting a plenty of outdoor space and very colorful drawings on its building. My favorite dish was their chicken wings they were simple but they can be treated as meals instead of bar snacks.

I visited Pennyroyal for brunch with my friend Nate, and we both ordered their pancakes. They came with a delicious maple syrup, but we requested extra. The jam that accompanied the pancakes was fantastic too. I highly recommend this place!

[Update: I came back for dinner, my friends and family absolutely loved it. Everything was absolutely amazing. Great atmosphere, great food and amazing service from Lilly. Found a new gem in Mount Rainer.

Quaint new spot in Mt. Rainier, MD right at the DC line. Beautiful mid-century vibe. Good food and drink options. However, quite pricey. We'll go back for happy hour and apps for sure. Reserva una mesa ahora

Pennyroyal Station offers exceptional food and service. I have dined there multiple times, and each experience has been outstanding.
