I don't know why but there's so many Italian restaurants now being taken over by non-italians so sometimes they just don't know what they're doing making Italian dishes. I got an eggplant parm sandwich that was not very good, the eggplant was oily and not breaded, which is strange because it's supposed to be. I took a chance because I haven't gotten a good eggplant dish in a very long time and now I know why. I think the lasagna is pretty good and it's a generous portion. Just when I thought everything was fine with the service, I encountered a frustrating situation today. I asked about the soup of the day, and the server mentioned lentil, minestrone, and chicken soup. When I inquired about escarole soup, he confirmed they had it, despite it not being on the menu. Each soup is listed as $4.50 for a cup and $7 for a bowl on the menu.However, when the bill arrived, I was shocked to see they charged $12.95 for the escarole soup, which wasn't even listed. When I questioned the price, the server insisted it was correct. Paying $15 for a bowl of soup, especially when it's not even listed on the menu, is unacceptable. This is my favorite Italian dining in experience around. Great food, and a relaxed atmosphere. They have the best chicken Parmesan in the area. Their pizza is good, too, especially their Margherita pizza. Except for Friday and Saturday evenings, I 've never had a wait for a table. Highly recommended!
