The restaurant used to be busy years ago. Went for a birthday on a Saturday at dinner time. Only one other couple there. Food took over 30 minutes to come out. Onion rings were soggy. Soup was good though. No fountain drinks, only cans which is weird because it’s a 50s theme with signs saying fountain drinks. Ordered desserts 2 sundaes and a brownie ala mode) took another 20 minutes. Server came back and told us they don’t have brownies only “small-mint ones” . The sundaes were mostly whipped cream. I’ve always loved going to Pete n Reenies but today will be my last meal there. It was so disappointing in so many ways. The restaurant was cold enough that we kept our coats on for the entire stay. The waiter took 10-15 minutes to take our drink order and there were only 3 other customers who were at the same table. When my husband asked for coffee, he was told that he’d have to see if they had any. They did. When our meal arrived, my fries were wet and limp from the greasy fish plopped on them. I ate little of my meal. Oh and when the waiter brought our food to the table, he told me that they didn’t have any forks. So I ate my meal with the spoon I got with my beverage. I felt compelled to write this review because I’ve noticed a tone of sarcasm from the owner when customers try to offer constructive criticism. I’ve seen this with other reviews as well. Whatever happened to listening to customer feedback and making improvements instead of snapping back at those who are trying to help? I really miss the original owners and the welcoming atmosphere they created. On a positive note, the pickles are still fantastic! I just wish it felt more like it did before.
It was hot in there, the 50's deco is up but the music is not. My grilled chicken sandwich tasted funny...might have been the bun. My husband had a burger and he said his tasted funny too. He said it was the meat....maybe it was the grill. All I do know, my husband never leaves food....but this time he left 1/2 his burger. We tipped our waitress since it wasn't her fault the food wasn't good. We won't be back.

Please update your hours on Google. When a customer makes a trip specifically to eat here and you're closed during hours that say open on Google it is frustrating. Business owners manage their own Google pages so please save someone else frustration and update your hours on Google. This is the 3rd business in the area that has their business listed as open on Google and is closed when we arrive.
If you're looking for generous portions of delicious food at an affordable price, this place is a must-visit. I tried Pete's favorite sandwich, and the onion rings on top of the hearty burger were truly outstanding—I only wish I had discovered this sooner! I also regret not trying their desserts.
Took my son their today and enjoyed the 50s era atmosphere. The waitress was great and very professional. The Mac and cheese bites were the best we've ever had also the pretzel bites and hot chocolate were delicious. Definitely look forward to trying more of their food. We give it a thumbs up.
i had the best cheeseburger ever in my life here. i had 11/10 fries and i was comfy, warm, and i felt loved the whole time being there. everyone is so sweet best people ever. and the owner is the best and so nice.
