I only have one minor issue: I would have liked a bit more meat in my pho. Despite that, I still give it five stars for all the positive elements. The combo pho with tripe and tendon is a rare find, and the noodles were cooked perfectly while the broth was outstanding. The service was prompt and friendly, and I appreciated the iced tea refills without having to ask. The prices are reasonable for the area.
The food at Pho Lantern Cafe is outstanding. While the service might need some improvement, which is often the case in Vietnamese restaurants, the focus here is really on the quality of the dishes. The atmosphere is fairly ordinary, typical of a bustling Vietnamese spot. My priority is a tasty bowl of Pho, and this place delivers just that.
Food is really good. Service leaves you wanting a little more but pretty typical for a Vietnamese restaurant. Atmosphere same thing nothing special but crowded Vietnamese restaurant what are you going to do. I don't come here for Extraordinary service Icome to eat a hot bowl of pho.

Good Vietnamese food located in Costa Mesa, CA. We went out for dinner and we were seated right away, the food was good, the service was descent and the atmosphere was ok. For a good hearty meal Pho Lantern Café is the place.
I ordered the Bún Tôm Chả Giò and received four shrimp—literally. The quality was good, but the beef pho was just average. Overall, I don't think it was worth $50 for a meal for two; that comes out to about $25 per person.
Amazing food and exceptional customer service. The staff are incredibly polite and friendly. You couldn’t ask for a better pho spot, especially at such reasonable prices. The atmosphere is wonderful too.
