Was so happy I could squeeze in lunch at this quaint country tea room. Slightly off the road in the village of Woodford, in a gorgeous country setting. The outdoor area is actually very spacious and has a lovely English feel. The hanging baskets were in full bloom and despite the summer heat, the place was looking well cared for. I stopped by hoping to get something tasty for lunch and I was not disappointed! This lovely, charming coffee shop had delicious quiches, plump scones, and a variety of tempting cakes and sweet treats on display. As much as I wanted the mouthwatering and massive lasagne I saw being served at the next table, I knew I would need a nap afterward and work was calling. So, I decided on a smoked salmon, cream cheese, and cucumber panini instead. It came in a cute container with fancy crisps, salad, and tasty coleslaw. I've taken several friends here for the first time and been really pleased. However my husband is disappointed that breakfast is not all day. Today however, three of us were unable to have what we wanted due to lack of ingredients as the menu is changing next week. We weren't told this when we were given the menus which would have been a good idea. What we did have was ok but we wouldn't have them again. However the jacket potato was of a good size, hot and with lots of filling and the ice-cream was delicious. Hopefully next time we go things will be back to the previous standard unless the menu is changing drastically.
We were just finishing a lovely easy day out and really fancied a nice cup of tea and cake).....as we were passing through Woodford looked into this lovely cafe. The first thing I would like to thank the ladies for is ...that although only 20 minutes to closing they were very happy for us to sit and relax. We sat outside, which was lovely. There is a great view, although if you sit in the wrong seat you have a view of next door's Briffa waste bins! The ploughman's was very good, and my friend, who is very fussy about coffee, said the coffee was very good. Inside they had the radio playing, which is a pet hate of mine. I will return when the weather is good enough to sit outside.
This past Saturday, my family and I decided to try out the tea room for the first time with our son. Although the atmosphere was pleasant and the staff were friendly, we were disappointed to learn that all of their cakes had been sold to one person earlier in the day. It would have made a better impression if they had kept a few cakes available for other customers.
What a wonderful little hideaway, we had the most delicious afternoon tea. We went as a family and were very well looked after, the service was quick, the staff are so friendly and the food was scrumptious. It felt like going to a friends for a drink and something to eat. Can't rate them highly enough. Well worth a visit.
Great location and great menu hot and cold available. Tasty food. Excellent service . Only a few negative comments chef needs to wear a hat and difficult to have a chat due to acoustics coffee machine noisy. Staff tend to pounce on you to soon and grab plates away too swiftly. But would recommend it

My daughter recommended this restaurant to me and I am so glad she did. We had a wonderful breakfast on a Sunday morning and will definitely be returning to try their lunches and afternoon tea!
Had a lovely afternoon tea. Fresh sandwiches, moist cake. Definitely worth the money. Will be visiting again.
