I absolutely love this little sports bar! It's conveniently located in the heart of Wabasha N. The food is delicious, though the portions are somewhat small, but it's definitely worth it. They have a great selection of beers, and the staff is super friendly. The music on weekends in the afternoon is also pretty decent, which adds to the atmosphere! The only reason I'm not giving it a full five stars is that the to-go orders can be a bit lacking; they rarely include cutlery, napkins, or condiments. Additionally, the brunch menu could use some improvement in terms of quality and variety. Just being honest!
I had a fantastic experience at Pillbox Tavern! The service was outstanding, and the lively, welcoming atmosphere made it even better. Their happy hour deals are definitely worth checking out. I sampled the totchos, Korean chicken tacos, and steak. The steak and totchos were absolutely delicious, and the chicken tacos were good too, though there was one ingredient I wasn’t a big fan of—just my personal taste. I would definitely return and recommend this spot!
The chicken salad wrap was absolutely delicious. While enjoying my meal on the patio, I noticed that some people approach you on the sidewalk. One gentleman was even selling roses nearby. To add to the experience, a light bulb unexpectedly exploded and fell from the ceiling! The open garage-style doors leading to the patio create a wonderfully spacious atmosphere.
We were searching for a place to relax before the concert at the Xcel Energy Center and came across The Pillbox Tavern. They offered a fantastic variety of food and beer. I ordered the deep-fried burger, and it was incredible. It’s an ideal spot to kick back and enjoy some downtime. I’ll definitely return the next time I’m in St. Paul.
