"Some of the best fried chicken I've ever had at a restaurant. I hear this is one of the only two remaining restaurants. There's history in this chicken and you can taste it. It's good."

Since 1961, this restaurant has been famous for its crispy, juicy fried chicken. It was just as I remembered it over 35 years ago – the same original logo and the amazing smell of frying chicken as soon as you walk in. Masks are required inside until you actually sit down to eat. They are still very careful with plastic divider discs between the cash register and customers. I ordered a 2-piece chicken meal with mashed potatoes and a corn cob. The chicken was piping hot, juicy, and had a crispy coating that exploded with flavor. The corn was not overly mushy and reminded me of a certain famous colonel's corn, while the mashed potatoes were creamy with a hint of garlic. I will definitely be ba...

Who remembers Pioneer Chicken? I do, just happened to be in the area with my husband and mother in law, saw the familiar sign and on to the Drive thru went. I had childhood memories from the 70s and wanted to reminisce. The Chicken was very good and crunchy, the mashed potatoes with gravy and the cole slaw were good too, the corn on the cob as well. I did not recall the chicken being crunchy back in the 70s, I always remembered the chicken being sort of the Shake and Bake texture but I am guessing the recipe must have changed or perhaps I was too young to remember that far. We really enjoyed the meal, I also ordered some fried gizzard's ?It was nice to see that Pioneer Chicken is still aroun...

I used to work at PTO 124 in Artesia, CA from 1983 to 1987. Unfortunately, it closed a few years later. However, I never grew tired of eating there because the menu offered a wide variety of choices. I still visit this PTO a few times a month, as the 20-minute drive is well worth it. The customer service is exceptional and the restaurant is always well-maintained. There is something about the dough they use that makes the food delicious. The French fries are especially tasty and the chicken strips are fantastic.

love it. one of the last couple out there. taste is exactly how I remember it as a teenager. this place still looks original inside, with little changes at her decor. at this location is available a passing through. an updated soda fountain would be a refreshing change. all that was missing were their little strawberry shortcake dessert cups! the toilets are still outside.

What a blast from the past! They had all the classics that I remember, but the bread was different, more like a tempura batter. The chicken combo and wings were both delicious and the fries were crispy. The meat seemed a bit greasy and the ribs were perfect. It was nice to revisit this place after forty years, and I will definitely come back again in another forty.

I had the 3 piece meal with two sides and an orange bang. The leg and wing were perfect. The breast was lacking. The mashed potatoes and gravy were perfect. The coleslaw was ok. The lady at the counter was rude. Maybe she was having a bad not sureOverall the experience was just as I remember from a kid. I recommend

Service was friendly. Cashier suggested an upgrade to my order and it was a better deal than what I ordered. Pioneer chicken is pioneer chicken but the food was warm and everything was as expected. Sides were decent size for pricing.Restaurant was fairly clean and service was prompt.

Chicken is good tasting but too much on the greasy side. Biscuits have good flavor. Their fish strips are plain tasting. No flavor and the tarter sauce, doesn't taste like tarter sauce. Too much on the tangy side
