we have been going to this restaurant for many years and always had great food and good service. they don't know what happened, but first they overwhelmed and we didn't have a table. the eating was terrible (and I don't use this word...free in my reviews.) the service was initially ok, but once the manager left, it was all but not existent. heard customers on the tables around us complain about eating or lacking service. they must definitely recharge their game and bring it back to his former glory. but will go back for one.
As visitors to Melbourne, we were not familiar with Northcote. It's great! High Street had wonderful architecture, and a great diversity of people and of restaurants. Think Enmore Road if you are from Sydney. I was craving a pizza, so we selected Pizza e Vino....We really enjoyed ourselves-service was attentive, the large pizza we shared was real Italian pizza with a think crisp base and not overloaded with toppings, the salad and wine to go with it were very good, and there was a real buzz in the venue. Highly recommended!
I placed an order for pickup from this restaurant on a Saturday night during lockdown, and it was incredibly delicious. It only took 15 minutes for my 2 pizzas and fried calamari to be ready. The staff members were very friendly, and they even greeted me by name as soon as I walked in, as if they were expecting me. I really enjoyed the way the sauce spread all the way to the edges, creating a thin crust that was a perfect blend of wood-fired and thin crust pizzas.
We had a special dinner here on Friday night and it turned out to be a great choice. The menu selection had something to please everyone from the grandparents to the 8 year old! The quality of the food was very good and did not...take too long to be served. The wait staff went out of their way, as did the owner to make sure we all had a wonderful evening and one to remember for all the right reasons.

Great wood fired pizza. But the service lacks! After ordering we requested the entries to come out before the mains. All came together. No apologies. Just left. Took us a long time to order refill on wines. Albeit the pizza and fish dish was tasty...the lack of care from the wait staff made our experience not as positive as we would have liked.
after a few years of break we looked back to this restaurant after a pub gig. expected expectations after our last visit and we were not disappointed. the service was friendly and helpful. eating was excellent and able to deal with our dietary restrictions. reasonable price. good atmosphere with the inside and outside street side eating.
fantastic atmosphere. very good eating with generous portions. the share tablets are excellent and are a very good size. Among the highlights are the meat balls, calamari, balmain bug and prawn risotto. very good personal service. cost were very reasonable...all of it is a very good place recommended.
Many visits to this delightful eatery have always impressed. Great range of top quality meals , wonderful attentive service, very friendly staff, and all being most affordable, makes this restaurant unique and very special to us , our family, and all our friends . Very highly recommended.

I am a lover of gorgonzola and found that they have a gorgonzola and mushroom pizza here when they are on the menu. I usually wouldn't have a mushroom on a gogonzola pizza and it didn't work for me. there was a tonne mushroom and not. the meal was very average.
