Plaka Greek Taverna Okotoks

I have frequented the plaka in Shawnessy in Calgary for years and I was so excited when they opened one here in Okotoks. We decided as a family to go to plaka for my 30th birthday dinner because I love Greek food. My hopes were high because of my experiences at the other plaka location and they were not disappointed. There was 6 of us and even though the space is quite small we did not feel cramped or cluttered and it was a great dining experience. The staff was amazing the waitress was phenomenal and everybody was very inviting and happy the entire meal. The food was just as good as I always remembered and I was so excited to try the new menu items. We started our meal with fried cheese and hummus both being exquisitely seasoned. My in-laws decided to get the platter of meats which had a huge amount of food on it able to feed up to four people and everything was cooked to perfection. I decided to get the moussaka as it's my favorite Greek dish and it was just as good as I hoped it would be creamy yet buttery with the perfect balance of sweet and savory. I would highly recommend anyone in the surrounding area to grab a table at placa for great dining experience.

Charming, spotlessly clean restaurant and attentive serving staff. Personally, I am not a Greek food fan; however, a friend chose this restaurant. My, oh my, what a great choice. She had Moussaka (which I tasted & deeelicious). I chose a Prawn dish in lemon, onion, garlic sauce. Large dish with lots of sauce to sop up with their very scrumptious pita bread. It is definitely on "my list".

We 4 adults indulged in starters and main courses washed down with a plentiful supply of iced water and Greek red wine. The food was fantastic, both quality & quantity. The waitress was polite, pleasant and helpful, especially her guidance about greek wines. The place was spotless, pleasant decor and a pleasure to dine in.The restauarnt seated 40 to 50 customers

A nice Spot to eat after you have toured the Plaka. A welcome spot to get out of the sun. The food is authentic and the service is great! We just saw this place as we were walking around. We hit the Jack pot. We just wanted to get out of the sun and for a quick meal. We were pleasantly surprised. The prices are very affordable and the portions are large!

Quick service & great food - tried the prawns, Greek salad, zucchini fritters & calamari. All were great! Lovely decor, especially for a small place like this. Definitely go again!
