I absolutely loved this place! It has a unique and nostalgic vibe, with plenty of delightful touches and surprises throughout. One standout feature is that the menus are made from old DVD cases, which adds a fun twist. They offer a great selection of drinks with creative names. Although they don't serve full meals, they do have some snacks available for order—though I can only specifically recall popcorn. Planet of the Tapes is a real gem in Louisville. With a host of great events, shows, and entertainers regularly on their docket, Planet of the Tapes always has something good going on. From their tongue in cheek cocktail menu(s) to the vintage aesthetic filled to the brim with VHS tapes, you really won’t find anything else quite like it around the city. This is the kind of “weird” that I think a lot of people refer to when they say “Keep Louisville Weird,” and I’d have to agree. Keep it up PotT
This was my first visit to Planet of the Tapes to watch several local bands play. What cool retro, welcoming vibe this haunt has. The employees were friendly and attentive. The venue was very tidy, which is no easy feat in this industry. It was clear everyone was really enjoying themselves, and it spilled over from person to person. If you're looking for something casual, trendy with a local feel, this is your place.Parking: Plenty of room for parking.
I don't usually write reviews, but I just had to share my experience at one of my favorite spots! The service was fantastic, and the friendly atmosphere made watching the b-movie zombie film "The Dead" playing next door even more enjoyable. Every time I'm in Louisville, this will definitely be my go-to place!

I really love this place! The people are wonderful, and the music is fantastic. The videos playing in the background set it apart from other venues, making it a perfect spot for laughs and entertainment.
Love this place. Great shows and cool atmosphere. Staff is always super polite. On Sundays, they show horror movies and serve popcorn. Highly recommended.
Gore Club for life! An epic contribution to the Kentucky community. If I lived closer, it would be a staple of my month.
Trivia was a blast. The staff were so fun and friendly. The vibe was amazing, so many cool posters and decorations.
