Plaza Jalisco Mexican Cantina

We stopped in shortly after they opened on a Monday. We were the second party in the restaurant. (2 in our party) The waitress took our order and per the usual, our order came out quickly. I got the lunch serving of fajitas. Not much flavor, and half way into my first fajita, there was something odd in my mouth. It was a piece of plastic wrap. I recieved an apology after I pointed it out, but that was all. My boyfriend had a steak burrito which also was lacking in flavor and the onions and peppers that the menu claimed it would be loaded with. Very disappointed.

When we first came in the place smelt so bad I wanted to leave immediately but we were hungry and this was the only Mexican restaurant in town. It was not that clean spotted a dead bug by our table and the condiments. The rice was clumped and old tasting my husband said his food was very bland. My steak taco was very bland the only thing was not bland was my steak. The service was great they were very attentive I would not go back ever. I hate to leave bad reviews but honestly I had to.

Great food normally. Except when you have a food allergy and make that known absolutely no cheese on my meal (and they put cheese on it )then didn 't add certain items you asked for on the carry out. Had to call and explain to 2 different people before they told me to come get a remade order , meanwhile being an inconvenience as it interfered with plans I was in the process with . Otherwise food is usually always great .

Great dining experience! This restaurant is a hidden gem in St. James, MN. My wife and I found it by accident and we were very pleased we decided to go there. The food was fantastic, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was authentic Mexican. The prices are reasonable and the portions are very substantial. Very highly recommend! Food was awesome! Waitress was checking on and giving great customer service. There is a large variety of dishes to choice from and they are large portions.
