Upon entering, I noticed there were only 2 tables for customers, indicating that they primarily focused on takeout orders. Despite my initial skepticism, I was pleasantly surprised by the food - it was fantastic, delicious, and affordable. The owner also served as the cook, while his son played the role of host and waiter. Both were incredibly kind, friendly, and welcoming; I don't think I have ever encountered such genuinely lovely people in a Los Angeles restaurant before. My most recent experience (12/14/2022) at Poom Thai was terrible. I attempted to place my order over the phone and was shocked by the rudeness of the elderly man who answered. He actually hung up on me. When I called back, the same scenario repeated itself. He appeared very stressed and impatient. Undeterred, I placed my order online. Upon arriving at the restaurant 20 minutes later to pick up my order, a woman emerged who was unaware of my order. After going to the back room and returning, she explained that there had been a delay in receiving the online order; she had just received it. There was no apology or empathy shown. I am uncertain if I will return.

This is my fellow co-workers go to late night Thai place for our night shift! Portions are always large and the food is always fresh and saucy. Our go to’s are the pad see ew and pad thai of course! We normally get deliver through an app. Notably on the most recent occasion, an entire bag of our order was missing. The gentleman who answered the phone apologized and promptly re-delivered the rest of our order himself! We were so grateful for that gesture! Doesn’t disappoint!

If you like meat in your food this is not the place for you. My Shrimp fried rice only had 3 shrimp in it. I got the garlic beef and it was barely any beef. Mostly a bunch of vegetables. Flavor was good though. I purposely ordered the Tom Yum Kai soup because i do not like mushrooms (the other 2 options listed mushrooms as an ingredient) ... they gave me a soup that had a bunch of mushrooms lol I feel like i wasted my money tbh

Best and most affordable Thai restaurant in town!!!!!! Tom kha kai soup is AMAZING! And the steamed dumplings as well. I’ve always ordered it thru Uber eats and it’s always delicious and hot. Love love LOVE! I literally ordered it twice this week.

My favorite Thai spot on the west side. Pick up only but it's worth it. Small family owned business named after the son who often is working when not at college. Get some amazing food while supporting a family's dream

Love this place! The spicy eggplant chicken with side of brown rice is my go to and there Thai ice tea is AMAZING. Oh and the cream cheese wontons. Definitely one of my fave LA go tos for Thai food!
