This restaurant is a gem. The gumbo was the best I have had. The homemade onion rings were delicious and the soft shelled crab poor boy was spot on. The service is unmatched, everyone who worked there was so nice! We have been traveling around the southern cities for 3 months and this restaurant is a true find. The people working here are the very definition of southern hospitality.

Great historic place in Downtown BR. Took some customers here for lunch. Food was great. Staff was fantastic. Glad they made this suggestion. I had gumbo and a gator poor boy. Total of 6 of us and we ate for just under $100 so it is affordable. Great option in downtown BR!

Great place for some Louisiana style food. So if you're looking for crawfish, oysters, shrimp, catfish, etc. This is it. Friendly and attentive staff. You can tell the folks in the kitchen take pride in what they do. Would gladly visit again.

I was totally blown away by Poor Boy Lloyds! The food was absolutely delicious and the staff was as friendly as possible! The old guy in the register spoke to LSU football with me and that was crushed on the cake! I can't wait to go back!

Friendly service and a delicious shrimp Poor Boy. I’m visiting from Texas, and I recommend this place. I’m trying the red beans and rice next.
