The corporate team should seriously consider shutting down this location. If I could give it zero stars, I would. The teenagers working here are something else entirely. If you have 45 minutes to waste, this is the place for you. The drive-thru line is a complete nightmare, and the service is just as terrible. After waiting for a long 45 minutes to finally receive your order, you might find that your food is cold or that items are missing. Then you have to wait once again for the missing items, while the rest of your food ends up going in the microwave. I wouldn't recommend coming here at all.
I was given a complimentary entrée due to an unusually long wait during a previous visit. When I went to redeem it and also ordered an additional entrée, they forgot to include the extra entrée in the bag. I tried calling to inform them, but I was on hold for 20 minutes with no answer. Once I finally reached someone, the manager on duty at 8:30 PM on Thursday, December 15, 2022, refused to provide me with the contact information for the district manager. She mentioned that she would send a free entrée to my email, but I haven't received anything yet.
November 26th 2022 service was slow with one cashier and the line inside went around the dining room. I asked for fries but got onion rings and I just kept them because going back to exchange them would have taken a long time. They call out numbers but they need a microphone because the music drowns out the girls calling your number. Food was good but I'm going down the street to Freddie's next time I'm in the area.
The restaurant is always bustling, and I can appreciate the pressure that comes with it. However, I don't understand why the staff asks for my preferences if they're just going to serve whatever they want. The food was generally good, but the beef was occasionally overcooked, and the Maxwell Polish was burnt.

World's Slowest Drive-Thru Award! We live within a mile of this establishment and have now officially thrown in the towel on returning again. If you have about a 1/2 hour to kill and don't mind your order rarely being correct as you ordered it, the Portillo's in Homewood is your kind of place.
I don't come here much anymore. Their “speed team” is slow, and they frequently leave items out. That being said, the food is good, and sometimes I come back to see if their service is any better.
I order a grill chicken no bun. I did eat off of it but this was wrong and I already waited hour and a half. But look at the lettuce
I always love to visit a Portillos. George was extremely helpful and friendly. 10/10 would eat there again.

The Hot Dogs were good but the desert was even better.
