We loved that this restaurant keeps it simple when cooking seafood. Crispy grilled sardines served with tomato and red pepper slices lightly dressed; pan-fried cod with beans, broccoli, and potatoes; mussels, clams, fish, and chorizo served on a bed of tomato flavoured rice, a bit wetter than paella.They preview the dinner with two kinds of bread (corn bread is to die for) and small plate of olives. The house white wine was a bargain considering what they charge in other restos.Our prix fixed dinner also came with a choice of three different desserts. One of my favourite restaurants in old Montreal before going to the Centaur Theater. No matter how late we are due to traffic and parking issues, the staff just get us fed and on our way on time. The fish is fresh and cooked simply and well. Accompanied by a bottle of the house wine and soothed by the relaxed ambience, the evening is a success no matter what the play is like.

would not recommend or dinate here again. everything we asked in the menu was not available. had to stand for dishes that were not our top picks or even in our preferences. a large part of the menu contained meat dishes and they were from all meat types. secondly, parts were very small and not good for what they pay. the fish had a terrible smell that was unpleasant.

We have been to Porto Mar several times when visiting Montreal. The food is consistently excellent. The service is relaxed and efficient. We had the wine suggested and it complemented the food very well. I would have no hesitation recommending this place to any one. Reserva una mesa ahora

This restaurant locates in a small lane in the old Montreal. Good Portuguese cuisine and excellent services. The menu has many choices also with set dinner. The price is very reasonable in this neighborhood.

this is a great restaurant in a beautiful old building, with a menu that brought us back after a previous visit to montreal. would definitely recommend and will return when we visit montreal again.

After the Pointe a callieres Museum, we went at POrto Mar for dinner. Portuguese inpiration. Chiken was superb; some had fish and they enjoyed. Service should be more attentive. Price list is OK.
