"Fair room in general, bed fairly comfy but bed base moved around a lot whilst I was on it. Paintwork peeling, no WiFi or mobile signal to dream of in room, no food available at 11am when I checked out. Power shower was anything but powerful."

This is a great place to stay if you like escape rooms because everything about it seems like a problem solving exercise. The first puzzle was finding it. It was midnight, pitch black and we couldn 't work out where on earth we were supposed to be going. We drove between junction 24 and 23 twice and went around the South Mimms roundabout at least 4 times before spotting the tiny signpost that just said 'hotel ' rather than Premier Inn. I couldn 't work out whether that was because they wanted me to feel better about my stay (by making it feel like the Savoy was just around the corner), or worse (by not naming the hotel chain in case I got embarrassed). We called the hotel, and Karen was amazing. She said she would check the lost property and promised to call us back. To our surprise, her call came back sooner than expected; she had found the bear and would keep him safe for us. “Charlie Bear” arrived home today in the same remarkable condition—especially considering his age! Our son cried tears of joy upon seeing him again. Karen even included a sweet little note with the bear. The service we received was fantastic from start to finish, and the breakfast was amazing too! A surprisingly spacious Premier Inn nestled in this service area just off the M25. The hotel is primarily on one level, but getting from the reception to your room can be quite a trek; in our case, it involved more than 300 steps each way. However, the rooms are exactly what you would expect from the chain. This service area is quite busy, bustling with trucks and buses, which made me concerned about noise, but I was pleasantly surprised—it was incredibly quiet once I entered my room. Dining options were a bit peculiar. I was informed that there were no tables available until a certain time, yet the restaurant never seemed to be more than half full at any point. This restaurant review reflects the standard expectations of a Premier Inn. It served its purpose for our two-night stay during a local event. Although it was somewhat pricey—likely due to high demand, as many hotels were fully booked—the experience was pleasant overall. The staff were friendly and polite, and they promptly addressed an issue we had when the light fixture fell off, getting it fixed within about 20 minutes. The location was convenient, being right next to the services, but the signage for finding the hotel was a bit confusing, especially the entrance to the parking area. Additionally, the WiFi was virtually non-existent. I could only find the network when standing at the door, and even then, it was incredibly slow and would hardly load anything. I would recommend relying on mobile data instead. Interestingly, during check-in, I was asked to record my nationality, but I noticed that white guests were not being asked the same question. On a positive note, the breakfast was enjoyable, and the staff there were friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, that was the only bright spot of my stay. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone; save yourself the trouble and choose a different place.
On a positive note, the room was spotless, and we appreciate the staff for that. However, we paid for a cooked breakfast with the promise of vegetarian sausages, only to find that they had run out. We also had to wait around for about ten minutes because there were no eggs, regular sausages, mushrooms, hash browns, or tomatoes available. It seemed like many guests were always waiting for something. We usually choose Premier Inns for our stays, but I wouldn’t consider returning to this location.
The lady on reception seemed to be quite annoyed that I wanted to pay in cash for my stay. My steak that I had with my meal was cooked perfectly however another member of my party had the mozzarella starter which is meant to come as a portion of five, but they only received four, which is pretty tight considering the price. The room was clean, the bed was comfy, and I slept well in the room which was in the 200's.
For a budget hotel this was very good. Good clean, comfortable rooms with all the necessary facilities. Breakfast was good, plenty of seating and the buffet was restocked in a timely fashion. The only disappointment for us was that the bar seemed to close a little early on the Saturday evening. We will certainly come back if we need to stay in the area again. Reserva una mesa ahora
