Puerta Mexicana is a tiny but super cute neighborhood joint with a friendly staff, fair prices and good portions. Most importantly I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE FOOD!!! I usually order pretty much once a week and they are hands down the BEST restaurant in East Rockaway and make some of the best Mexican food on Long Island. My go to items are the chorizo quesadilla, chicken, pork, chorizo or mushroom tacos, enchiladas mole, and the tostadas. They have great guacamole, salsas and vegetarian options as well. Definitely a great spot for the authentic Mexican food lover! *Update, recently ate inside and had the new quesi tacos de birria, ... OMG, I'm in love!!! ????????

Puerta Mexicana is a small but charming local restaurant with a welcoming staff, reasonable prices, and generous portions. I absolutely adore the food here! It is hands down the best restaurant in East Rockaway and serves some of the best Mexican cuisine on Long Island. My favorite dishes include the chorizo quesadilla, chicken, pork, chorizo or mushroom tacos, enchiladas mole, and tostadas. They also offer delicious guacamole, salsas, and vegetarian options. This is definitely a must-visit spot for fans of authentic Mexican food! *Update: I recently dined inside and tried the new quesi tacos de birria... Oh my goodness, I am smitten!

Puerta Mexicana is consistently delicious, both in and takeout, its going to spot! The service is fantastic and the food and drinks are just fantastic. We get to share the grilled chicken plate for my toddlers and even cut them up the chicken before they serve it, and as every parent knows, not that your hungry toddler eat on a crowded restaurant table is a massive help. The Quesadilla de Birria and Sangria-rita are my favorites all the time, trust me, you will love it!!

Great people, but this is the last time I ever come here. Here and there the food is burned, what happens. But this time all my tacos were fried too crisp. Black as coal and hard as rocks. I can't believe this was put on my plate. So disgusting and will never be there again. I'll give the stars because they deserve it. But I'm sorry I'm not a customer anymore.

Staff very friendly and food is amazing! Been here so far 3x and I will always come back. Tried tortas, good. Tostatas, great! And enchiladas good! Also the chips and guac are delicious!! Give them a shot! So worth the trip. Update- this has become my go to place for dinner or lunch. Amazing food seriously, never disappoints!!

I was in Long Beach, typed Mexican food on Waze and ended up here. I ordered tacos ?grilled chicken,steak,shredded chicken, shrimp? omg they were so delicious! Pina colada was very good too! I?d highly recommend this spot, outside dining also available, clean restaurant and restrooms.

Always so amazing. Great service when you dive and take out. Birria tacos and the quesadilla are great. The Tlacoyos de nopal are my favorites when they have them on the menu. We don't even live nearby, but go out our way to eat here - that's good!

Really great tacos and the burritos are so large they can be a considered a challenge. I think the atmosphere makes it better to dine in than takeout. Definitely will continue coming back to third spot.
