If you are looking for good local food at a good price, then you just found it. located in the middle of the amazing Cartagena old city, but still very affordable, Punto Tropical is a Colombian food restaurant with the best Colombian attitude, is the place where locals come for lunch, snacks, beers and cocktails. At night they have karaoke, and they do speak English. As a personal tip, if you want to save some money, ask for the Menu del Día, is the Colombian lunch for workers and locals, it comes with a delicious soup as a starter and then you get a decent plate with rice, salad, (beans, lentils or chickpeas), local patacón and you can chose your meat among chicken, beef, pork and of course Fish; all that for less than 5 €. It's got a great atmosphere, perfect to grab coffee or beer at anytime of the day or night, the music is just right and the natural juices will make your day, if the rest didn't do it! This is a very nice place to eat and chill but this is also the place you want to visit if you want a good and reliable help with trips around Cartagena! We ate there and started chatting with the owners, asking them for advice about how to book a trip to Rosario Islands. They recommened Gente de Mar resort and basically did all the booking for us. The trip was A+! Everything was just excellent. So if you are not sure where to book or what to choose, go to Punto Tropical and ask for their help. These guys are reliable and very hospitable. Totally recommended!
Lunch on my last day and wanted something simple but delicious and Colombian. Saw this place and wandered in, a nice mix of families which is a good sign at lunch. I ordered the beef rib sancocho which came in a huge bowl and was delicious! And only around 12,000 COP. Friendly, efficient service too.
