I lived in California for 12 years before moving to Cleveland recently, and I was taken aback at how bastardized fusion taco bars seemed to be what many folks consider to be Mexican cuisine here. Ummm, no. Fortunately, there 's more to Latinx cuisines than just Mexican fare (or what people think it 's supposed to be here in the Land). If you 're never explored Salvadorean cuisine before, there 's a certifiably authentic option in the form of Pupuseria Katarina here on the Cleveland Parma border, near the critical junctures of Routes 480, 176, and 77. Authentic Salvadorian cuisine and efficient service. Try the plantains and any pupusa combination- they're the best. They do have full bar service, yet I usually opt for a horchata. Restaurants like Pupuseria Katarina are an oasis if you are looking for a taste of home, and even if you are unfamiliar with cuisine, you won't be disappointed. The staff is helpful, the atmosphere is unpretentious and homey, and the food is delicious.

YOU NEED TO GO. I have been there 2 times now and its been very good. It is a hole in the wall, it takes a little time, but the pupusas are made to order. Do you want mediocre Mexican Food where all the the items are pretty much sandbagged like a mc Donald's, or do you want fresh?I will defiantly go back, you should go, relax, have several beers and enjoy Katrina's Pupuseria

This place is actually a pretty good pupuseria. Their chicharon con queso (pork cheese) pupusas are very tasty. They are hit or miss with the sturdiness of their pupusas though. Sometimes they might be opened up and the insides come out, but regardless the taste is there and that's what counts the most.

delicious, fresh food. maybe a few tassen for the salsa would be good instead of ziploc bags tho
