"I went here for a work do. The food was really good and the drinks were also good. The only complaint is that the pub is located out in the boonies so it is hard to get to."

Had an amazing New Year 's Eve dinner here and every course was just delicious and so much fun like the take on 'egg and soldiers ' for a starter which was a confit of egg yolk with an asparagus puree popped into the egg cup with brioche soldiers on the side topped with an onion jam. It tasted so good! Love the service too and we had a special dietary requirement and that was taken care of beautifully . It feels like a posh place to eat in but it is such a relaxed atmosphere . We also had a fabulous take away Xmas lunch where you picked up the food the night before and then just popped in the oven for an hour on the day. All came with easy instructions . We live about 30mins away and came here for the first time for a country walk on the South Downs. Took the dog for a long circular walk having parked at the pub before it opened. Arrived back at about 1pm and went into the ‘pub’ side for a drink and lunch. All made very welcome by friendly bar staff. Decor is lovely with gastropub feel without being OTT. We both had sandwiches from the lunch menu one fish goujons and one Welsh rarebit. Each came with a side salad and delicious cup of homemade celeriac hazelnut soup. Amazing service, the staff was super sweet and caring. The food was ok, but not as good as expected... The gnocchi were missing personality, the taste was nice but not as tasty as could have been. All of the other plates were fine but the portions were way too small. I did not expect to get a huge portion but 2 slices of duck breast... I think 3 stars reflect the actual value. The dessert was not as nice as you expected it to be, we were expecting a nice gelato but it was mediocre... We paid quite a lot for what we had, thus I would not recommend this place.
I have to say I drove from Bristol to have a business lunch at this cosy pub I have to say it exceeded all my expectations the food was excellent the staff were professional and so welcoming the young lady who goes to Cardiff Uni was especially helpful excellent if you are in the area yes make sure you visit this establishment can't say enough about my experience Reserva una mesa ahora
Stopped by for a sandwich lunch at the Purefoy. Started with a lovely pint of Flower Pots Perridge Ale. Had the rump steak sandwich and my partner the Welsh Rarebit. Both were spot on, and served with a delicious bowl of home made soup. The Purefoy is a really chilled pub and service was great. What’s not to like? Absolutely nothing. 10/10.
Everything about our lunch at the Purefoy was beautifully done. Genuine, extremely warm and thoughtful service (we were given a table and seating to accommodate my mother’s mobility and back/neck issues . Every element of the meal was flawless with keen attention to detail. Thank you so much.
