Raglan Fryer - Reserva de mesa

Arrived 30 minutes before closing (8.30). A very polite young lady took my order with a not so polite elderly woman chiming in with brash comments in the background throughout. The elderly woman then turned around to walk towards the rear of the shop and stated i will have to turn the chip fryer back on now for F$*k sake . She made it abundantly clear that this was an inconvenience and did not want my custom. I explained to the young lady (who was clearly embarrassed and really did not deserve to witness the old woman 's disgraceful attitude that I didn 't visit to receive such rude behaviour and to let the clearly disgruntled woman know not to inconvenience herself. Appalling customer service, might as well have been invisible, kept waiting a ridiculous amount of time yet it was so quiet, nearly walked out. The food was ok when we eventually got served, however it was rather off-putting to see no hand washing after handling non food items and the lad went straight to dealing with food and kept touching his face whilst preparing someone’s order and took so long for simple tasks, wouldn’t go back unless desperate. Zero charisma, customer service and basic manners seriously lacking. For two members of staff and so few customers, you’d have been quicker getting in the kitchen and cooking it yourself!

Miserable old woman who i think is the owner seems to have a bad attitude towards her customers, she is nasty, rude and downright obnoxious, its a lovely busy little business yet she (the old woman) does not seem to like anyone. On a bright note however the food is very good with excellent chips and great fish.

Have been coming here every month since before lockdown because the fish and chips is so good. However, after the greasiest piece of fish and a rude and sarcastic comment from the woman doing the frying, we won’t be coming again. Have put up with the rudeness until now as the food has been so good but no more! Reserva una mesa ahora

Rang up to ask if they offer Gluten free…. Yes! Brilliant! Or do I thought….. They fry Gf batter in the same fryer as normal food!! No good for the GF/coeliac community! Some people need educating on Cross contamination!

Staying in Penrhos Usk. But went for a drink at lunch in Raglan and just fancied some Fish Chips, but they had no fish left , so went back this evening and it was well worth the trip. Would recommend trying them out.

This the BEST fish and chip shop !!!! Wonderful owner and staff and wonderful fish and chips. We have fish and chips most Fridays and they are the Best !!!!

EXCELLENT FISH AND CHIPS, The best i have had for ages. Large portions. 5 stars from me. everyone should try.

Better than all the rest… Huge portions and fish to die for! Batter is lovely and crunchy… 10 out of 10
