It is always a treat to enjoy a breakfast at Recipes on Haggerty Road and this past Sunday's breakfast was no exception. Having enjoyed breakfast fare at this restaurant on a frequent basis since my first visit last year, I have never been disappointed in either the service or the food. The owners and the entire staff definitely want to make sure that their patrons enjoy a wonderful dining experience.! On each occasion that I entered this restaurant, I have always been greeted with a smile and shown to a table. It should come as no surprise that I always arrive around 8:30am as by approximately 9:00am, the tables are filled and people are waiting to be seated. On this past Sunday, upon being seated, Jenn, who has served us before, appeared at our table with her usual engaging smile as she handed us two menus while inquiring if we would enjoy a cup of coffee. Throughout our meal, the hot coffee flowed just like our conversation. The coffee is the best coffee that I have ever enjoyed in this area. This is not a restaurant where you wait for minutes for a refill of coffee or for a server to come to your table. The servers continuously walk around the tables in the restaurant either refilling empty cups of the patrons or inquiring if patrons would like something else to enjoy. This past Sunday, my friend and I did not deviate from our usual breakfast choices. Within minutes, my friend was served a stack of pancakes topped with fresh strawberries, whipped cream and maple syrup flowing down the sides with a side of ham. His breakfast looked like it was ready for the cover photo shoot of Bon Appetit. He raved about the pancakes and the ham. My Tooka omelet was, as usual, delicious. The same was true for the rye toast and breakfast potatoes that came with my omelet. This is a great spot to enjoy breakfast any day of the week. Although I have never enjoyed luncheon at Recipes, I did review the food offerings and they all looked delicious. If you find yourself in the vicinity of Haggerty Road between 13 and 14 Mile Roads and looking for a place to enjoy breakfast or lunch, head directly to Recipes. You will not be disappointed!
Really great brunch place. Service was great, considering it was crazy busy. We got a table for 8 pretry quickly. My egg benedict was delicious.
