My husband and I stopped by Red Robin for a quick avocado cobb salad and a mushroom burger. We decided to sit at the bar. The hostess was incredibly friendly and went out of her way to assist us, even though it might not have been part of her job to fetch salt, pepper, ketchup, ranch, and honey mustard. The other staff members also worked well together as a team. We received water immediately, along with our baskets of fries, and our food came out in no time. Your service is generally quite good. I think the food is standard... not amazing, but also not fast food. All right. Recently I had a terrible experience that had an order over the phone for takeover. The person over the phone seemed like sitting on a couch and talking very lazy. After 3 minutes she said sadly, I cannot place the order because we are at maximum capacity. I couldn't even place an order online, either due to the maximum capacity. Later I found out that this is the call center that is founded for Covid. You really need to hire call center workers who give a damn. The service at the bar was quick and courteous. The young woman who served me was excellent—she kept my drinks filled and was very efficient during checkout. As for the food, it wasn’t anything remarkable; it was what you would typically expect from Red Robin. While it was good and satisfying, the prices felt a little steep for what I received, though that wasn’t a deal breaker for me. The standout aspect of my visit was definitely the service, which I really appreciated. Overall, would I recommend Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews? I've always enjoyed RR, especially the Banzai with crispy onion straws, which is typically very tasty. Unfortunately, this time was a different story. The onion straws tasted oddly like shredded paper, and I even checked to confirm that they weren't actually paper. They weren't, but I can't tell if RR has switched suppliers or if I just got a bad batch. I ended up having to pull several onion straws out of my mouth and eventually removed them entirely from my dish. I'll have to give it another try to see if this was just an isolated incident. I've dined at Red Robin a couple of times and enjoyed the experience. However, ordering from them wasn't quite as satisfying. The fries were extremely bland, and the buffalo chicken was soggy. The BBQ Burnt Ends had a fun concept but were let down by the disappointing fries. On a positive note, the Crispy Fried Pickles were excellent. I might consider ordering again just to get more of those fried pickles!
