This is a family run old traditional Swiss restaurant with a long tradition and history. They are breeding their own capons, which are served in their restaurant upon reservation, which is best done a few days in advance. Then the service is indeed slower than in a 'normal' restaurant but this place is here to relax, and to enjoy the excessive amounts of food.We came for a Christmas family lunch, which we made part of our Christmas hike. It was an afternoon filling exercise and we spent a great few hours at Blasenberg. It's simply excellent poultry. Which means it's not a Veggie-place. And asking a meat restaurant to turn a meat dish into a veggie dish is a bad idea. Complaining about it on...

I will tell this upfront: this place IS expensive, no if's and no but's.Now that we got rid of the elephant in the room, I'll tell you about the rest.It is located on the way up to the Zugerberg and is easily one of the restaurant with the coolest location and sight in the whole Canton of Zug.The house is a very traditional one and we have gone there to taste a specialty that you need to order in advance the 'Kapaun' (i.e. capon). It is served with nice saffron rice and (really?) french fries... all you can eat... or rather order as they come very slowly and by that time you're probably not hungry any longer.Which is good because you need to focus on the capon. One capon can largely satisfy 4...

A nice change from the ever so posh Zug gastronomy scene. The Restaurant is traditional in every way, be it the traditional rooms, the furniture, the building itself or the menu.Located high above the city on the Zugerberg, the view is one of the best. If the weather plays along you will see one of the nicest sunsets in the area. So take your SUV and give the engine a bit of work for once. There is nothing polished and this is great. The food is solid and there is a nice choice of wines. What more do you want?

When we go hiking in Zugerberg, we often pass by this place on our way downhill, finally we gave it a try, and it was amazingly good. The place looks really casual outside, simple menu, but really great and tasty food. The chef did the grill in an outdoor grill which we could see if our dishes are being processed. I had one of the best risotto in Switzerland and the price was very reasonable. We enjoyed it very much, Would love to visiti it again in our next trip. Reserva una mesa ahora

We came Blasenberg to celebrate the 40est birthday of a friend. We were a group of around 25 people with kids and all had the roasted chicken with salad, fries and risotto. My dessert was a coupe Denmark. The food was good, we also had the house speciality, but the service was rude and unfriendly. A pity for such a beautiful restaurant at the perfect location!

Went here for lunch with a friend; preordered one of their home-raised capons (castrated rooster). The bird was presented to us before it was carved up; I was able to take home the few leftovers. Capons have excellent meat; it's a pity raising them is so difficult you can't often find them. This restaurant is a gem, with a good wine selection.

Beautiful location easily accessible by car, bicycle or a gentle walk from train. This is a family business that is very friendly and welcoming. The menu is interesting, with a focus on local products and one of their specialties is their rooster roasted to...Perfection and served completely so that you want to carve as you, ideal!

In order to eat the delicious capon you have to make a reservation. The cocklet is cooked in the oven for four hours. Accompanied with risotto and french fried, both of rare quality. Nice view on Zug. Reserva una mesa ahora
