Union - Reserva de mesa

Beware of the name! We expected a little quaint restaurant with typical Swiss food. We found instead Chinese dishes camouflaged under French denominations. Nonetheless, the food was good and pleasant. The service, considering the kitchen was a bit under stress due to unexpected affluence, was a little slow, but the servers were trying their best to accommodate everybody. And they wore a smile! All in all, I cannot say we were disappointed. Knowing now what to expect, we will visit again if in the area. And if we feel like Chinese.

we stumbled upon this restaurant as we were touring avenches. the food and ambiance did not disappoint. the staff were helpful and friendly and spoke english. we started w/the chevre and honey salad as an appetizer and our main meal was the pork and cordon blue dishes. all 3 dishes were yummy and the portions were big! for dessert we order the mixed plate w/c included mini versions of lava cake, creme brulee, tiramisu and a fruit gateau all were excellent. will definitely return!

Schönes und gepflegtes Lokal mit angenehmem Ambiente mitten in der Altstadt. Die Bedienung war kompetent und sehr freundlich. Wir hatten asiatische Speisen bestellt, die schön angerichtet waren und soweit auch gut schmeckten. Bei einigen hätten wir uns etwas mehr Authentizität gewünscht. Alles in allem ein Lokal, welches wir mit gutem Gewissen weiterempfehlen!

Super nice and quick service. The back dining room is nicely decorated and very cosy. I took a chicken green curry and my wife sweet-sour shrimps. The food was all in all well cooked but could have been better. Shrimps were too sweet with dominant pineapple taste and the chicken raw material was not of the best grade. Open on Monday at noon, how lucky were we to pass through the door of the Union restaurant? The welcome from the owner is warm and friendly, the service provided by a Ukrainian is competent and charming, and the tartare cut with a knife is perfectly tangy to our taste with crispy and soft fries. What happiness! Catendo

We ordered two dished: a Cordon Bleu and a pork with honey sauce. The cordon bleu was beautiful, with 2 kind of cheese, together with chips and some asian vegetables that gave a new dimension to the dish. Loved it. The pork was mostly done the asian way, but with a Swiss twist. Highly recommended.

Superb establishment, the owner listens to customers. The kitchen is very good. Prices are a little expensive but totally within the range of the region.
