I would 100% recommend this restaurant to anyone! Small gem next to the Lausanne's Cathedral.The service is very kind, maybe you can wait 5-10 minutes because the owner is serving alone the tables, but the quality of the food definitely worths waiting. We had a very particular and tasty salad, followed by probably the best fagottini I've ever tried. They were fagottini with tartufo and safran sauce with slices of Prosciutto crudo, the combination was fantastic.The price is fair for Swiss stardard, and especially if related to the quality of the dishes.I am more than happy to come back to this restaurant, and I will for sure!
I found this place while wandering near the cathedral and am so happy I did. My boyfriend and I went back for dinner and enjoyed the best plates of pasta both of us have ever eaten. Everything is homemade, and the flavors are unbelievable. They have daily "prix fixe" specials that come with salad, a main dish, and a dessert (for 38 CHF!), and you would do well to trust their recommendations. We had pasta with a black truffle sauce and another that was filled with prosciutto and mozzarella. I seriously considered ordering seconds and taking it back to our hotel. Seriously…do not miss. Possibly the best value in Lausanne.
Have decided last night to have dinner out and chose this place from TripAdvisor. Must admit we have chosen it based on ratings and the owners name. Romanian!!!We were looking forward to seeing what Romanians can do and be proud!Couldn't have been prouder!The food is amazing! Best I had in a long time in Lausanne. Service was nice and very personal. Even though we speak French she has explained the menu in Romanian. We found that super nice!The place is super small and looked like all the people there were very loyal customers. They looked like they all knew each other.Definetely coming back again!
We had an excellent meal at il Ghiotto. We were warmly welcomed at the restaurant which is positioned greatly, very close to the imposing Cathedral of Lausanne. One of our children has allergies and they were very accomodating to make sure she got a great meal as well. We had the pasta with truffle saus, which was amazing. Also the recommendation for the wine, a Antica from Puglia was very good, as it went very well with the food. It's always so hard to make the selection because everything is delicious. I keep going to this place because the pasta is amazing and the owners are great! it's an easy going place, not noisy, perfect to spend a nice evening, Nice selections of wines too. and not to forget the desserts ;)The location is great, specially in summer time. There is a terrasse with a view on the cathedrale, it's a very nice neigbourhood!Definitely a place to go to have a nice lunch or dinner!
Excellent small restaurant in the old town. The food is original with fresh home made pasta very well presented. Dessert are fresh home made and delicious.The terrace is lovely specially in spring and summer.The owner serve you directly. She is very warm, interested in your satisfaction beyond formalities. You feel at home with her.Daily menus are very good.I go many times in the year since I discovered the place sometime ago.Highly recommended.
