Restaurant La Grotte

Came across this restaurant at lunch time haing driven from the incoming ferry at St. Malo.From the exterior just an acceptable French restaurant once inside we found it seated at least 80 and on a Friday lunch time in October it was at least half full with locals.Water and bottle of wine on the table on a help yourself system; collect cold appetisers from the buffet, main course was a choice of lasagne or pork, followed by a plate of cheese left on the table to help oursleves. Desserts were chosen from the nearby fridge and coffee followed.All this for 11.50 euros each

Good lunch at a very affordable price. Friendly and clean. Worth a stop. The village of Canihuel itself is beautiful.
