This place is next to the hotel St Nicolas, the hotel breakfasts are served here as well. During the evening the Le Manala (in Finnish Hell , not very appropriate! is a regular dinner place. After a long day we were too tired to look for...food elsewhere, and the restaurant looked tempting. The space was cozy, the personnel very friendly but we did not really have a common language. The menu included many local Alsace specialties, I chose the sauerkraut in Alsace style, my wife had a salad. My dish had a generous portion of spiced sauerkraut with three different Alsace sausages and a piece of pork, good and hearty food. The salad was huge as well, so this is a good place for hungry visitors....
Walking in to this pretty and cosy restaurant it felt exceptionally warm and welcoming; all the tables had beautifully locally woven red patterned tablecloths, and the tables were well spaced out so not noisy. You absolutely must book. We went for the local specialities. Did...you know that sauerkraut was invented in Alsace, where it is known as choucroute? One of us had the green version with lots of herbs plus a selection of cooked sausages very filling. I had the roe deer with home made spaetzle very filling and I missed having accompanying vegetables. Followed this with creme brulée which was excellent. Various tarts also available.
Stumbled upon this restaurant while exploring Riquewihr. It is tucked in nice side street and cozy warm restaurant with typical Alsace decor. The server was very friendly, warm and helpful. We had the bouchee a la reine (vol au vent pastry) with spatzle noodles. The puff pastry was delicious and flakey, and the creamy sauce was perfect. Meat tender and perfectly cooked. We had a good selection of local wines to accompany it and a delicious creme brulee as dessert. Would definitely recommend if you are in Riquewihr for an authentic high quality meal with friendly staff.
we decided to read some of the Tripadvisor reviews. I think it's a very fair option when they visit riquewihr, what, it was our case during the trip through the French asacy. eating is good, I recommend going to the...regional specialties, so they can have something authentic from the region. note that many courts are based or have chucrut that can be normal there, but personally I didn't like it. the price was good. the service was really good that made dame and effort to understand us (which is usually not in france the case).

we stay in the hotel st. nicholas, and we decided to book in restaurant for dinner. the offer is typical of the region and the quality looks good. at least for us that we are not expert in this region. price reasonable,...for a restaurant in the heart of the city. service good. location amazing. the interiors have the typical feeling of the city.
A bit out of main track, this place is a treasure!Food was fantastic! I ate stew of deer with homemade noodles and recommend it!My friend had salmon and it was very good too. Staff is not good with english but very nice, fortunately menu is in french, german and english
eating was great, especially the choucroutte verte. the waitress was very attentive and friendly. no need for a longer talk when they are looking for great food without too much tralala, that is the place!
Very nice welcome to this lovely local restaurant. Nice recommendations for local wines. Food very hearty and plentiful. Great to taste local cuisine. You should try this place out if in the area.

came back after many years, we'll be worth it. easy from the beaten away in the old riquewihr. nice lunch with excellent food and service. stay in the hotel many years back, very pleasant.
Good service and good portion size at this restaurant. The food was all of Alsatian style, which we enjoyed . The restaurant was busy the night we went and the atmosphere was charming.
