I see a few people on here complaining about being ignored by staff at Restaurant San Vicens and other french restaurants generally. I think they must be shy. Restaurant San Vicens is in a beautiful position overlooking the bay in a very busy tourist location. Sure it is busy, sure it can take a while to get a table, but the staff if you talk to them, although clearly very busy, are attentive and friendly. Whilst more of a tourist stop for lunch, and not a top restaurant, the seafood dishes such as monkfish tails and scallops that they have on offer are excellent. We had a drink here most days during our recent fortnight in Collioure - the views are amazing - the staff are very friendly and efficient - we had food here one evening and a breakfast on our last day - good value for money and great food - this was our second year in Collioure and we would definitely return to this bar/restaurant. I am a vegetarian and the choice is limited but they adapted the goat's cheese salad for me and left off the bacon lardons - not much other options though! The other half really enjoyed his steak and the waiter was cute :-)
We always go her for a spot of lunch while visiting Collioure and this day was no exception. We stood at the entrance while three young chaps stood around chatting to each other. Finally one of them asked if we wanted to eat. We said yes and we're lead to a table, and then left completely alone. They fussed about with the umbrellas, sat other people, served others and still came no where near us. Not even a, what drink would you like. Nothing. We got fed up and left and went to another restaurant and had a nice lunch. We will not go back here.
I have known this restaurant for many years , it is a delightful place to come and sit in the sun outside and have a drink. The outside menu is fairly limited , but for the foodies there is a full ( mainly fish) carte inside. If you sit inside , try and book so that you have a table on the water side , it is a bit stuffy away from the doors / windows. Excellent food in the main restaurant.

Stay away from here if you are after a reasonable petit dejeuner. They save the lowest quality aspects of their restaurant for the 6€ they charge. I guess you get what you pay for, but hard bread, some butter, awful filtered coffee and reconstituted orange juice. There are many better and friendly places.
We arrived to find our table by the window with a view as we had reserved. The seafood was excellent, as was the local rose wine that was recommended, and all for a reasonable price. If the weather is nice, sit outside, but it was raining this night, so inside was perfect.
Seeking shade and food on a busy Saturday afternoon in Collioure is a tricky combination. However San Vicens did not disappoint. A seaview vista, attentive staff and two lovely salads washed down with a bottle of Collioure red wine made a lovely lunch experience.
The San Vicens is on the sea front and has one of the best views in picturesque Collioure. We have been several times and always have sea food. My grilled sole was well cooked and the service was efficient and friendly.

The food is good but not spectacular. The restaurant is right by the sea so has fantastic views and a great atmosphere. Service can be patchy and is best at lunchtime or mid week. A good choice for lunch.
