My friend and I made Rex our first stop on our first trip to Chicago. Had a Uber from the airport, baggage and everything because we had to know what it was about in the hype! We decided to do so very gladly. The family that leads the place is very friendly. I had read that the Momma will hand out samples while you wait to order; I thought there was no way she did. If so, that would be great. But who really has this level of hospitality today? This place is great. Upon entering we were greeted and the lovely lady proceeded to give us multiple samples of her home cooked food. Everything was delicious which made it hard for us to choose what to get. Did not disappoint. The eggplant parmesan wasdelicious as were the meatballs and sausage and peppers. I highly recommend this place. The food was fantastic the service wasgreat all at fair prices. Will definitely be going back.

This family-owned restaurant serves the best food in the city. Every dish, whether served hot or cold, is crafted with care, and you really feel like part of the family when you're there. It's truly fantastic, and we make it a point to visit whenever we can.

This is a fantastic old-school deli with a wonderful atmosphere. I ordered the meatball sandwich, and it was absolutely delicious, measuring an impressive 9 inches! The prices are great, and the staff is incredibly friendly. I will definitely be returning!

Always delicious Italian food, friendly staff, a warm place to enjoy the cultural atmosphere. Haven't had any of the food disappoint, but my favorite by far is the cold octopus salad. YUM! Then top it off with a heavenly espresso and cookie...

The local DDD legend continues to impress. It's still operated by the same family, and their subs are fantastic. The Italian pastas and specialties are homemade and truly remarkable. The trip from anywhere in the city is definitely worth it.

I have been wanting to stop by this local deli but never got the chance until now. Can I just say how authentic this place is the salads are amazing the Italian sub was my fav. Definitely will be coming back.

The food is extremely delicious . The atmosphere is like walking into a old style Italian deli. The employees are friendly and courteous. I will definitely patronize this location more often!!!!!

I ordered the filled bowls, and they were absolutely delicious! It's a small business offering homemade Italian dishes. The service was very friendly, too!
