I visited this pub/restaurant on a Tuesday evening and found that the dining room was empty when we arrived. The food was tasty and the service was top-notch; the young girl who served us, named Layla, was extremely helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend trying the belly pork main dish, as it was delicious. The only drawback was that the room we sat in was cold with no heating on, which is why I didn't give it a perfect 5-star rating. I will definitely return, perhaps next time when it is a bit busier.
Went on Christmas Eve for the Sunday lunch menu, not expecting too much knowing how crazy Christmas Eve is. All 11 of chose the roast beef and it was excellent. Yorkshire puddings were great, gravy spot on and the veg fresh and tasty with a particular ‘shout out’ for the carrots and parsnips which were fantastic. Staff were great too. Only slight ‘fault’ but I do get it, we had to keep going downstairs for our own drinks. Overall though excellent and we will certainly be going back for Sunday lunch in 2024.
Great night ruined by one of the bar staff members extremely rude and refused to change my drinks that had been poured when the coke pump had ran out and just ignored me when I was trying to tell her (called Sarah). Also screamed at me ‘I heard you’ when I repeated my order as I thought she had never heard me. Luckily another member of staff called Grace was accommodating and apologised for her colleagues poor and inappropriate behaviour.
This is the best place in Widnes and the local area in general. Head over to Farnworth, a short drive from Cronton and Widnes town centre and enjoy a drink or an excellent meal in this country pub. We had lunch there twice in one week. The food is excellent, the prices are modest, the atmosphere is friendly and the service is great.

The new chef at this restaurant is really outshining other good food establishments. The two dishes we ordered were top quality, yet offered at very affordable prices. The staff was welcoming and extremely friendly. Overall, a classy experience. Great job, keep it up!
I really wanted to love this as everyone wants pubs like this to thrive. It looks a lovely place to eat in, but the food was really poor. The service however was absolutely excellent and a credit to the place.
Had a meal here when the food was first served and it was OK. Went again yesterday and it was superb. Food was very good as was the service. Its definitely improved and worth a visit, cheers

Excellent as always. The staff are all fantastic, food is excellent (most recently the Sunday Roast). It's a cracking local pub with a great vibe. Highly recommend.
