This is a beautiful establishment with the best view of the lake. We didn't have a reservation, but we were able to sit at one of the high tables near the bar. We were pleasantly greeted by Skip and were seated quickly. As we were taking our seats, we met Roslyn, the owner. She was high energy and welcoming. She suggested an appetizer after finding out it was our 1st visit. We decided on the shrimp cameilia (not sure if I'm spelling it right , which was amazingly delicious. I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The service was excellent, and the food was delicious. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the view of the lake was beautiful. I visited with a large group of over 50 people, some of whom used mobility aids (wheelchairs, walkers, or canes). The staff at Rips was wonderful and treated everyone with care. All our orders were accurate, and the staff was efficient, patient, and polite. The food arrived at the right temperatures—hot dishes were indeed hot, and cold dishes were cold. Casual upscale right across from the water. They have table cloths but you can wear John Deere gear and curse. Sat at the bar, great service with really good food. Ordered the shrimp and grits and trout Audrey. Don't let the menu description fool you, the bbq sauce in the shrimp and grits is more like a étouffé . Lots of flavor, plenty of shrimp and really delicious. And the trout Audrey was amazing. Nice lump crab and shrimp with a nice fillet. The atmosphere was a bit old south but not unexpected for Mandeville. And the food quality and service and the reasons to come here

Great food and great services. I very seldom give this high of a rating but I think it deserves it. My meal was excellent, a blonde roux of crawfish etouffe, with a side Cesar salad that was more than I could ask for. Served with some bread rounds and a side of Cole slaw. The perfect meal for me. Mandeville boasts the best and most historic bar in the area. It offers stunning sunsets and great drinks. As the oldest bar in St. Tammany, it has a unique charm, despite being one of the most frequently flooded spots in the region.
