Relocation of the prior CWRU adjacent store many of the photos are outdated! Fortunately, the relocation to Lee Rd is every bit as quirky and charming as you'd expect a Rising Star to be. With any Rising Star, you'll get quality coffee, beans, merch, and baked goodies for sale. Most of their pastries are sourced from Blackbird Baking Co in Lakewood with plenty of gluten free options, bagels from The Cleveland Bagel Co, and Rising Stars have all stopped charging extra for dairy alternatives! Housed in a retro themed diner which is once again open for dine in (or study in), this cafe is polished, clean, and friendly. This is one of the coolest coffeeshops I've been to merely for the fact that it's in an old diner with what feels like lots of original decor cleanly preserved. The stainless aesthetic definitely feels like it's from a different era, in a good way. It's Rising Star coffee, which I always enjoy, but the staff here prepare things well which is the important part. I've never had anything less than warm interactions with the staff, although I'm a bit biased because we're regulars at this point. The interior seems to have been patterned after the dining car on a train, too, which is an added bonus for me as a train nerd. Showed up fifteen minutes before closing, and was told they were closed. Explanation barista gave me was that Saturdays are usually slow later in the evening and they tend to close early. This isn't okay, because we looked at the hours before we went, and knew we could get there in time for a couple cups. We had friends visiting from out of town who expressed interest in Rising Star, because we told them it's the best coffee in Cleveland. This was a long trip for everyone just to be met with this explanation. Change your hours or don't close early. This was a huge disappointment, and an embarrassment for myself as host.
This place is very mellow calm and serene. Come bring your books in study while sipping some of the best coffee around. This is coming from someone that owns a couple of French presses moka pots buys his own coffee beans and grinds them up every day. I'll definitely call myself experienced when it comes to coffee and this place definitely does not disappoint. I got an espresso for $2.50 and it was STRONG! Definitely come give this place a try. Promise you you'll come back again

For lovers of good specialized coffee from their roaster, good service, and a quiet place, whether inside the café or outside, there you will find your place. I drank with them an espresso from Peru and also matcha with almond milk. They were nice when they knew that I am a fan of specialized coffee and that I am visiting America, so they gave me a quarter of a filter coffee. Thank you for your kind treatment. Strongly recommend
I'm not a big fan of coffee, but Rising Star offers a variety of great options. One of my favorites is getting a chai latte with a scoop of cardamom bomb mix. The staff is always friendly and quick! Their outdoor patio is large and a great spot to unwind while enjoying a drink with your furry friend! (Here's a photo of my dog Daisy enjoying the patio with me.)
The great coffee and barista expertise you'd expect from Rising Star with a relaxed diner aesthetic. This is a great place to meet friends or spend your work day, as long as you don't need perfect quiet. The staff here has also always been kind and thoughtful.
My favorite local coffee shop. All of their drinks are well balanced, every season there are new drinks to choose from, and there is plenty of room outside and in the dinner side for studying or mingling with others!

Lovely cafe located in an old Diner. Had a black coffee with oatmeal and a chocolate croissant and cost $11. The Diner was busy with uni students working on their lab tops. Friendly staff and very accommodating.
