grotto revisited. usually they’re cool because of their particular setting in a fresh space where you enjoy the fresh surroundings. but grotto riviera is a cool place for many more reasons. great food, a quirky ambiance, vintage comics to be read on the loo, funny...signs (you better know some italian), easy going staff, a funny way of getting your wine and a collection of LPs which are played while you spend your time there. i forgot, if you’re a grotto purist, only cold platters or maybe a minestrone, or if you’re a grotto romantic looking for checkered linen and boccalini , well, that’s not the one you’re after. but if you get there by accident, you’ll really enjoy it and go back as soon...
Went there with the whole family on Good Friday (April and we enjoyed a beautiful and scrumptious dinner next to the fireplace. Service was very caring and very friendly, decoration and atmosphere of the Grotto conquered everyone and we would definitely go back. It's...on the mid-range pricing, not too high, but also not on a budget. Nice being able to go to the wine cellar and choose the wine, but maybe only suggest to take a wine which is almost all gone in the cellar, and not one that has a lot of bottles, says it all that it's still all there....
Good food, even better experience!! Had an amazing experience on a quiet Wednesday evening. Super hospitable and very passionate owner, who made it with his eye for detail a great evening. The restaurant itself stands out on terms of design/decoration, music comes from a record...player, which is frequently changed by the owner and you pick your own wine bottle from the cellar. As said, food is good, lamb was cooked to perfection. Thanks for a great evening and interesting conversations about things that really matter.
When we want to go somewhere special, we always choose Grotto Riviera. While it is a grotto, it is above and beyond your typical grotto. The food is head and shoulders above your typical grotto. If you are looking for an elevated Grotto, Riviera is...your spot. Incredible record collection you can choose from and play your favorites. We spent a Sunday evening in this Grotto while most of the other restaurants in Agno were closed. We ordered a big salad for two followed by coniglio (rabbit), a typical Ticino recipe, and a meat skewer as our main. The meat was perfect grilled,...and the coniglio was at its best we enjoyed very much. The people are very nice and they speak English and German besides Italian. Very local customers and not too many tourists.
We have been there the of us with two kids at the age of Awesome place. Great people serving food and wine. We loved it. We ordered a mix of starters, sampled by the kitchen. Outstandingly great starters. New experience: we had to...pick the wine our selves in the cantina. So great. We loved it.
Super Ambiennte, tolle Gastgeber, persönlicher Servicio, regionale Auswahl... im Sommer autentische Grotto-Bestuhlung (Steintische....). Mein Lieblingsessen: Fleischspies... aber das Gattelo (Mistkrazerli) a la rabiata ist top! Ganz Speziell wie der Weinkeller angelegt ist
