If I could give River City Grill more than five stars I would. I love their menu. They have an extensive children 's menu and offer family style dishes as well. There 's really something for everyone. One of my favorite things to get there is their salad with salmon. It has some soft Italian cheese, pistachios, artichoke hearts and a delicious dressing. The salmon is always cooked perfectly. It 's one of my favorite items especially for a light summer meal. I always order it with a side of roasted cauliflower. River City Grille! Sandwiched between a garage and a dive bar. Once you get inside you realize there's a little gem here. We went during restaurant week. Like $40 pp. Our waiter has clearly done this before, was on point all night. We started with the apps: I got the mushroom ravioli and my wife got the chickpea appetizer. We ended up swapping midway through, as she enjoyed the ravioli and I enjoyed the chickpeas For the main course I had the Braised Short ribs. To be honest, this was a bit dry. Very nice place with good service and decor. Despite being crowded the noise level was fine. Food was very good, but given the very high prices, the portions were way too small. One dish in particular Chicken Scarpariello. Typically restaurants load this up because the main ingredient (chicken) is very inexpensive. I guess the old axiom is true the more expensive the restaurant the smaller the portion.

This incredible restaurant is one of our top picks! We are thankful for the years of great conversations and delicious food we have enjoyed here with friends and family. I eat at River City about once a month. The place is valuable for several reasons. The food is very good, fresh, plentiful. The drinks have a good pour. The service is great, the staff couldn't be friendlier and Bobby, the chef and owner is a gem of a man. He tries to visit each table and say to his guests.

An Irvington stalwart of cuisine and a regular in all locals rotations as solid option for family dinner or drinks, in vibrant bar, with other parents. Lots of great menu choices, fast friendly service and nowhere near budget breaking activity as priced soundly.

The restaurant was very loud and, despite our request for the host to address the noise level, they refused. This situation could have been resolved without causing any frustration on either side. We will have to reconsider returning to this restaurant.
