The people genuinely care and love this place, it's the heart of Preston food. They have a lot to serve throughout the day, and there's a large variety of food here I've tried things from their nugget bites, to dim sum to their must-have chicken curry it's all filling, incredibly great for value and delicious!! I will usually stop by here for a munch whenever I'm out and about through the town centre or when I'm in a bit of a hurry to grab something quick to munch on, but past that, I've also come here for joints of chicken and gammon in times that I've been in a rush to have one prepared. All and all, Roast is a fantastic spot!
Excellent place for lunch, not so much for breakfast. Roast's lunch menu is second to none for quality and price so I was very disappointed to find their breakfast quite poor. The eggs were massively overcooked, grey sulfuric edge to powdery yolks surrounded by whites so hard you could kill a small dog if you threw it at them. Sausages were average, the mushrooms watery and the bacon tasteless. Overall I'd strongly recommend Roast for lunchtime but I wouldn't go back there for breakfast.
all our food was cold even though we only ate ~2 minutes after purchase. the chicken tasted odd and was not appetising at all. the onion rings were also off but were better compared to the chicken. the burger bun was rather hard, though it wasn’t terrible. the cheese looked odd but taste wise it was just alright. the staff was helpful enough, i haven’t got any complaints as to them. i ate here last year and it wasn’t bad at all. terrible downgrade, would not go here again.
chicken great and very cheap, but the chips are terrible (in my opinion) every time I get them, they are always slightly underused and a little heavy in the middle. Perhaps most people like them like this idea, not for me. (fastly better than the disgusting müll they sell to the local takeaways, although the salt pepper season is still delicious, therefore still 5* rating) breakfast is really nice and super cheap. in any case recommend. The first time i came here i was blown away, then my parents got it while visiting and they were blown away. This was 2 years ago, now i barely ever go because the quality is significantly worse and i always regret it afterwards. The last 4 times i've been given chicken scraped from the bottom of the tray with all the skin falling off and soggy, and the chips have been cold and rubbery. Not sure what changed
Honestly. Each time I come through Preston this is the place I choose to eat. The food is actually so good, flavour and portion. You can see why people queue up the street. Don't let that put you off. It moves fast thanks to the hard working staff. Always a pleasure to be served, old school interaction and craic with the servers.
