Rod's Olde Irish Tavern

We had an early dinner at Rod's. The building is very nice after the renovation. We started with drinks, and I had a New England Clam Chower for an appetizer. Nice twist putty a puff pasty on top. Definitely recommend. For dinner, I had a Greek salad with salmon. It was nicely done, and the fish was perfect. My wife ordered a fish dish off the specials menu. It came and was very impressive but so spicy hot it was not pleasant. I like spicy food and was surprised. I don't recall a note on the menu or the waitress warning it was so hot. Both my wife and I chose the crab cake sandwich special for $22. I took a moment to glance around at what others were ordering, and everything looked beautifully presented and appetizing. I ordered a bourbon old fashioned while my wife opted for one of the drink specials. Everything we tried was delicious and well-prepared, and I was pleasantly surprised by the generous size of the crab cake. We skipped dessert this time, and our total bill before tip came to $75. While I would say it's slightly on the pricier side, we definitely plan to return!

Our server, Rose, was outstanding! She offered excellent recommendations and provided honest feedback. The ricotta toast was bursting with flavor. The fried calamari was among the best we've ever tasted. The fish and chips came in a generous portion and were cooked to perfection, just like the chicken cutlet sandwich. We dined outdoors, and the lovely weather made for a perfect Sunday afternoon!

Didn't have a great experience a year ago but went again tonight. Ordered mussels and half were not opened. Let the manager? know and he got us a new order and comped us drinks. Our entrees (pasta and an entree salad) were delicious. Having a floor manager that gives a s made all the difference. We will be back and happy to see this place well managed. I absolutely love Rod's! Everything from the cocktails and food to the service is highly recommended. I really appreciate that they have two bars, allowing you to select the ambiance you prefer. I just wish we had discovered this place sooner. The mussels and crab cakes are delicious, and the strawberry salad is fantastic!

The food and service were absolutely outstanding! I'm so glad I discovered this restaurant. As a truck driver, I'm used to truck stop food, but I was fortunate enough to be near here and dine today. I loved everything about my experience. Thank you!

We heard that Rods had done some well needed renovations, so we decided to give them a try. Our appetizers were great. The young server did a spectacular job. The four of us each had an awesome dinner. We are looking forward to coming back.

Great food, great service. Our server was awesome! Only complaint tables inside are very dark. Will be returning.

Crock of chili was great, so was the California cheeseburger. Blueberry cobbler was sooo good!
