We had an early dinner at Rod's. The building is very nice after the renovation. We started with drinks, and I had a New England Clam Chower for an appetizer. Nice twist putty a puff pasty on top. Definitely recommend. For dinner, I had a Greek salad with salmon. It was nicely done, and the fish was perfect. My wife ordered a fish dish off the specials menu. It came and was very impressive but so spicy hot it was not pleasant. I like spicy food and was surprised. I don't recall a note on the menu or the waitress warning it was so hot. There is nothing old about Rod’s that’s for sure. This is a classy place with that “ Olde Irish Tavern feel”. The food and ambiance is tops. A cozy sized place , whether out for dinner or food and cocktails after a day at the beach, dress appropriately. Cotton slacks, Dockers, shorts button up or pull over sport shirt you know. The food and service is exceptional use discretion as to when you may need reservations expect a small wait on non holidays. Close by whether in Point Pleasant, Spring Lake, Sea Girt etc. It’s on Washington blvd. in Sea Girt. Enjoy this Irish-American tavern it is a nice family/friendly restaurant.
Both my wife and I chose the crab cake sandwich special for $22. I took a moment to glance around at what others were ordering, and everything looked beautifully presented and appetizing. I ordered a bourbon old fashioned while my wife opted for one of the drink specials. Everything we tried was delicious and well-prepared, and I was pleasantly surprised by the generous size of the crab cake. We skipped dessert this time, and our total bill before tip came to $75. While I would say it's slightly on the pricier side, we definitely plan to return!
Our server, Rose, was outstanding! She offered excellent recommendations and provided honest feedback. The ricotta toast was bursting with flavor. The fried calamari was among the best we've ever tasted. The fish and chips came in a generous portion and were cooked to perfection, just like the chicken cutlet sandwich. We dined outdoors, and the lovely weather made for a perfect Sunday afternoon!

We heard that Rods had done some well needed renovations, so we decided to give them a try. Our appetizers were great. The young server did a spectacular job. The four of us each had an awesome dinner. We are looking forward to coming back.
Always a great time. You can get simple bar food and some standard comfort food. Bar area is very friendly and they have a good selection of beers both on tap and in bottles.
Great food.. the dirty martini is the real deal. Definitely returning. Love the bar seating and the great friendly service.
Good Pub and nice ambiance, with lots of great food options, but not much vegetarian food option

Crock of chili was great, so was the California cheeseburger. Blueberry cobbler was sooo good!
Rods is a favorite for my wife and I when we're down the shore. Good food and nice atmosphere.
