Maybe 2.5 Stars... I was in the neighborhood and walked by this bakery. The beautiful pies in the window caught my eye. Since I needed some dessert for the holidays and wanted to support local businesses, I went inside. I was the only customer there during mid-afternoon. I was surprised since it was so close to Christmas. Customer service from the employee was very friendly and helpful. Customer service from the owner older woman with authority), was less courteous friendly... bordering on rude. I ended up purchasing a large pecan pie $23) and a large fruit tart $37). I thought the fruit tart was a bit overpriced but both desserts looked terrific, so what the heck. I asked the owner how long...

Local neighborhood bagel and pastry cafe. Huge space inside with plenty of seating and a large selection. I came in and was respectfully greeted. Next time I come to this spot I will have to ask what they are known for/what they recommend to try their masterpiece. They sell cakes, pies, cookies, and small individual pastries (the owner clearly stated that they do not sell slices but rather individual small pastries). Individual pastries priced well at $4 each but I'm sure this varies depending on the type of pastry. The tiramisu slice was very visually appealing. The bottom cake portion of the tiramisu slice was unfortunately stale and hard. Chocolate pastry cake was much better, was actuall...
Later, when we sang happy birthday and cut into the cake, I realized there was a problem when my 10-year-old, who loves sweets, handed me his slice and said he didn’t want it. The rest of us tried it too, and we all had the same reaction: the cake was extremely dry and tasteless. Honestly, I could have gotten a better cannoli cake from Stop & Shop. The prices were on the higher side of moderate for an Italian bakery, but after tasting the products, it was clear I overpaid for last week's leftovers. It’s such a shame because everything looked so appealing, and as a local, I really wanted to find my new favorite bakery. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend it to friends...
I'll start with the good, the pasties are delicious. The service on the other hand is atrocious. The people behind the counter aggressively want to rush people out the door and expect everyone to have the precise order ready in their heads when they walk in the door. Want to browse the selection? Forget it! I've had orders cut short because of the pressure put upon me to order and get out. Mind you, it's 7:30am and there's nobody else in the store. Customer service has been in decline for years and this last visit was the final straw. Time to find a new bakery where they allow you a minimum of 30 seconds to order and aren't inconvenienced by customers wanting to spend their hard-earned money... Reserva una mesa ahora
My first time buying from here so, I bought the assortment of mini cakes (red velvet, tiramisu carrot). All of them were very dry and hard on the outside. It also tasted like it was a week old or more and in the fridge too long or something. I figured at least one of the cakes would taste better but they all had the same problem. I don't understand how that could be. Not sure if I would come back to this place.
This place is by far the best pastry place around. The cakes, and even the bagels are sooooo good. My favorite are their Pignoli cookies. Their customer service is always top notch, and the store is spotless. Highly recommend!!! Ohh and try the tiramisu, it’s authentic.
Amazing cannolis. Cream is so yummy. On point; not too sweet. I discovered this place when looking for a bakery near my sister's place that was open on Christmas day. Still thinking about those cannolis ?
If you're unable to visit Sicily for that cassata cake, order it here instead. It's incredibly sweet and absolutely delicious! Reserva una mesa ahora
