I am very disappointed and sad. This feels like the end of an era. I originally believed that Il Romano would be relocating to Mario’s Deli, with a separate restaurant inside. Unfortunately, Mario’s Deli only sells their items, which look old and unappetizing. It’s disheartening because my family and I used to visit Il Romano all the time; their food, service, ambiance, and owners were simply amazing. The food was always fresh and delicious, but now their items are just available at Mario’s Deli. When I walked into Mario’s, it was dirty, and the food looked unappealing. The arancini appeared to have been sitting in the case for days. This isn’t a reflection of Il Romano, but rather of Mario’...

I want to say I am disappointed that they aren’t opening up their own location, instead a collaboration with Mario’s deli. Romanos was a place where families would come and enjoy themselves and in a sense felt like a community and family. They would have karaoke nights, wine and paint, and more . and overall I always felt like family whenever I would come here and the owners were amazing. Food was outstanding and fresh. Now that they are in collaboration with Mario’s deli, it’s not the same unfortunately. They close so early on the weekends seriously? We miss you guys. Come back!!! Open up your own location please :

It seems they have relocated to Addison. The food is generally very good, but the prices have increased, even before inflation and COVID-19. The arancini is the highlight, as many people are aware. Not too long ago, they were $1.50 each, but now they are closer to $4. We used to buy 20 of them, but we don’t do that anymore. However, we will visit the Lake Street location someday.

Would never go back. I ordered a chicken parmigiana sandwich and it was horrible. My friend ordered a beef sandwich it was nothing like a Chicago beef should be. We didn't know what it was. The antipasto salad was nothing like I ever tasted. The meat looked like it was months old. Bad time! Maybe the pizza is better. Reserva una mesa ahora

Unfortunately, they are currently closed because they lost their lease for the building on Franklin Avenue. They shut down this location on June 28th. The owners have assured me that they are looking for a new suitable space and will reopen as soon as they can.

It's truly unfortunate to see this place shut down; it was undoubtedly the best spot for arancini and panzerottis!
