As a long time Romano's customer it is difficult for me to leave this 2 star review. I don't know if there is a different recipe for the traditional square tomato pie, but the last couple (including tonight's) were way too thin and it seems like the dough was really stretched and the cheese beneath was unnoticeable it was so skimpy. Being so thin the crust was like cardboard. The sauce was still very tasty, but tonight's version pales in comparison to what it used to be in the past. Cost cutting measure? I hope not, as Romano's had a winner in the past, but after tonight and the last few I would be hesitant to buy one again. ..... To reply to the owner's response after this original posting,...

Saw the article in the Daily Times and thought we would give it a try. My son and I both had the original pepperoni stromboli. We bought two, but one would have been enough to share. The crust was crisp and flaky and stuffed with meat. We both enjoyed it. My wife had the spinich stromboli. She has had spinich stromboli from a number of places in the Delaware Valley and said this was by far the best she has had. Romano's is a little far for us to travel, but we will definitely be back. Still can't belive the stromboli was invented in Delco.

I was so looking forward to visiting this place as I’m from the DMV. Stopped here out of my way on a trip to the Jersey Shore. So disappointed as the place hasn’t been updated in 3O years and it was almost decrepit because of it. Food was mediocre best which u can find same or almost certainly better anywhere else in the Philly area. Thought this may be a destination restaurant from their hype but was gigantically disappointed. Save yourself the trip and disappointment my friends and fellow foodies.

The service was super kind, friendly and welcoming. My Sweet “Original Stromboli” was mouth watering to the eyes and music to my taste buds.. Absolutely the best Stromboli and Marinara Sauce I’ve ever eaten! I had to save the other half to share it with a friend who was equally pleased! “Mmmmss” were her words and mine!! Had not been there in years was with a friend from Jersey who wanted a cheese steak. We were close to Essington so I took him to Romano's. We split a large Cheesesteak Special Stromboli. We were both in heaven. Each of us left with to go boxes from what was left. Will be back soon.
