The menu features a mix of Indian and Asian influences alongside traditional Burmese cuisine. My only prior experience with Burmese food was in San Francisco years ago, where I fondly remember the Tea Leaf Salad. Although there are many salads on the menu, they resemble more of a stir-fried variety than traditional salads. Here’s what we ordered: **Tea Leaf Salad with Rice** This dish is a delightful mix of various ingredients like chickpeas, fermented tea leaves, fish sauce, and spices. It’s quite tasty on its own, and while it doesn’t really need the rice, the heavy seasoning might encourage you to have some as an accompaniment. This was definitely a favorite of our meal. **Palata Brea...

Ok, so I never ever write reviews on Yelp--whether I have a good or bad experience. HOWEVER, this rare Burmese joint was so off the hook that I had to come back and write a review for everyone else to see. First, I tried Burmese cuisine for the very first time in Oakland, CA where there is a considerable amount of the Burmese population in the bay area. When I got back to Atlanta, my food/cook connoisseur friend was complaining that the only type of food she has not have had the chance to enjoy was Burmese. So I simply looked it up for her on Yelp and Lord and behold, I was able to find the only Burmese restaurant in southern USA. As my boyfriend lives in Tucker, I recommended to try out the...
I had been curious about Burmese food for a long time so you can imagine my excitement upon learning that there is a Burmese restaurant in metro Atlanta. Like many well-kept secrets, Royal Myanmar is located in a nondescript strip mall in Clarkston in a stand-alone building. I went there for late lunch and it seemed like they would have closed for the afternoon had I not walked in. I was the only customer then, so I hope reviews like this will change that. Being a Burmese food virgin, I, of course, ordered mohinga, the national dish of Myanmar. It's a very savory fish soup (not off-putting fishy, mind you) with rice vermicelli noodles, egg, yellow dal, onion, lemongrass, and garlic. The yell...
We ordered a spicy pork salad that included ears and some other ingredients that might not appeal to everyone. It was tasty, but even the server mentioned it was spicier than she could handle. Unfortunately, they were out of rice, and I suggested someone take some home. We also tried two noodle dishes featuring quail eggs; one of them was notably better than the one advertised as Myanmar's national dish (sorry, Myanmarese friends). The highlight of our meal was definitely the spicy fried fish. While some dishes had flavors reminiscent of Thai or Indian cuisine, they came at a more affordable price. The only dish I would order again is the fish. The staff, although inexperienced, were very ki... Reserva una mesa ahora
--- **Review of ABC Restaurant** **Ambience:** The ambiance leaves much to be desired. **Cuisine:** The restaurant claims to offer authentic Burmese food. **Customer Service:** Unfortunately, the service was lacking. The owners appeared unfriendly and did not greet us, despite the restaurant being completely empty on a Friday night, with only one couple ordering takeout. **Cost:** Our meal for five people came to about $50, but they added a 3.5% surcharge for using a credit card. **Hours:** They close at 9 PM on Fridays. **Menu Availability:** To top it off, they were out of Kawswey, a coconut soup, which is surprising given that the menu features only about ten dishes in total....
This may be some of the best Asian cuisine I've had. There. I said it. The green tea salad is not like anything I've had anywhere. It's crunchy and salty and sweet. Our two young kids got fried rice and really loved it. The portion size was enough for them to share. The staff is friendly and the restaurant is small enough that it's easy to flag someone down if you need them. The portions are pretty small (probably more along the lines of what Americans should be eating), so you can get multiple dishes and share. A fine restaurant for lunch or dinner.
New owners, menu has changed dramatically. They have language barriers, and a lack of restaurant savvy. They took our order, but half of the very few menu items we had to choose from were not available. They then came back to our table to tell us two more dishes we had ordered were also unavailable. Quite unprofessional, will not last long. Blamed menu shortages on the fact that they were new owners. We left. Not worth a visit. Sketchy parking lot.
I ordered the homemade tofu salad, a fried gourd appetizer, and the coconut soup. The soup was absolutely incredible—I could eat it every day! The tofu was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. However, I wasn't a fan of the fried gourd; it had a lot of breading and the vegetable itself had little flavor. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant! Reserva una mesa ahora
Delicious! I ordered the rice noodles and really enjoyed them (I added the chili pepper in that photo, by the way; they serve it mild). The owners were incredibly friendly and attentive. Also, am I the only one who loves the tea they serve? I asked them about it, and it’s a Burmese Chinese blend!
Met a friend for lunch here and we were pleasantly surprised. Very good food, exciting environment, and a great place for lunch.
