A busy Saturday found us in the overflow dining room. Staff were busy yet checked on us regular. The boss came out of the kitchen to take our order as he is committed to the experience of all customers. My smoked meat sandwich on marbled rye with a dill pickle on the side was as it should be delicious! I was brave enough to try their homemade dill pickle soup and was amazed at this flavour sensation! Only recomendation would be to separate the pickle from the sandwich with some kind of paper that would keep the moisture from seeping to the bottom bread slice of the sandwich which got a little damp.
We brought my terminally ill mother here, and the reasturant was not very wheelchair accessible. There are no automated doors in the front or in the bathroom.Some of the staff were very sarcastic and rude. When we asked the wrong server for something, she snapped at us that she was not waiting our table and was off her shift soon. When I went to pay I could not find anyone and we waited a long time to pay. Overall, we felt like a nuisance to the staff.The food was good, and the restaurant was clean, but unfortunately, the overall experience was very poor.
This place is just awesome! The service is super warm and friendly. The atmosphere is great with lots of funny frames around and the food is incredible. Generous portions, amazing quality and great prices! I had the shrimp tacos with a side Caesar salad and everything was super flavourful and fresh! You HAVE to try their famous cinnamon buns. They’re to die for! The best I’ve ever had ?
Roy's was a good choice for breakfast heading to Lake Louise. Typical diner food, nice and simple. They are known for their cinnamon rolls, which are gigantic. We took one with us and shared it for breakfast the next day... and had enough for another snack.Staff was great. We stopped here for lunch on a road trip. A friend recommended that I try the beef dip and it was delicious. The kids menu had excellent choices. The service was fantastic. I believe our server was named Lisa and she was very patient and attentive. Of course, we got a famous cinnamon to-go and it was absolutely fabulous. Next time I will have to come on dill pickle soup day!
Clean and friendly. Beef dips were not exceptionally full of beef, but it was delicious Alberta beef and the bun was very nice. Wasn't crazy about the dip. Kids grilled cheese was great as was the pasta choice. French fries looked and tasted like they were made on premises, much better than commercial variety. Nice place to stop for a bite along the way.
Loved it when we went years ago. Wanted to have a cinnamon bun, for the ride back to Coaldale. The hours online say they are open, but were not! Another customer pulled in as we were leaving, most likely disappointed too.Tuesday at 11:30ish.Maybe some updated hours would be beneficial to save people a trip.
