Ruby - Reserva de mesa

I ordered two meals over the phone. I had the Ruby Special Curry and was pleasantly surprised by the size and value. The dish had a good selection of vegetables and a variety of meat. The only downside were the chips, which I believe were frozen and not the usual Chinese style chip. Overall, the food was very tasty and good value for money. My wife had the Sweet and Sour Chicken Balls in batter, which were also good value. It would have been a perfect rating of 5 out of 5 if it weren't for the chips. We would recommend this restaurant, but note that they only accept cash.

At one time the Ruby was first choice for Chinese in the area. I've not been here for a few years and visited there today. All I can say is that it contained calories. A Chow Mein consisting mainly of greasy noodles and not a lot more, and a Peking Style Vegetables where the beige contents were swimming in what tasted like diluted tomato ketchup with a spoonful of sugar thrown in. I rarely have to write a damning review but I would honestly rather go hungry than eat food from this place. So sad considering what it used to be like.

Asked for Special Curry with fried rice and basically got a larger portion of chicken curry. Other takeaways offer special curries which consist of mixed meat and mushrooms but Ruby is 90% chicken, loads of onion and a few mushroom, very lucky to get pork, beef or duck in the special.

Used to be the best chinese in town..now since its been taken over by someone else the food is awful. Really poor quality.staff are not so friendly ..used to be mega busy but since new owners have been there its really quiet which in itself speaks volumes.. really disappointed Reserva una mesa ahora

I had a delicious dish of beef and pineapple with rice at this restaurant. The food was well-cooked and the price was reasonable. The service was friendly. I enjoyed it so much that I returned the next night for their sweet and sour dish, which was also delightful.

The restaurant seemed to have lost its chef as the food was cold, undercooked, and the order was incorrect. It felt like the owner was just improvising. My visit was quite a while ago and I have no plans to return.

This chinese is as good today as it has ever been. Totally delicious, good amounts of meat, lovely sauces. The staff are great and no waiting time. when she says 10 minutes that what it is.

Have used Ruby for many years.Prior to lockdown we had a couple of meals that were disappointing. Tonight however it was delicious. Glad to see they are getting back on track. Reserva una mesa ahora

What has happened? Used to use Rubys all the time, but the last few times the food is disgusting! Save your money and go elsewhere.

My parents and I would love to express how amazing the food was we ordered tonight! Compliments to the chef! Highly recommend
