Have driven by and have heard of people going to Rumors for lunch for years. This was my first opportunity to go and I didn't know what to expect. Well, first off, we walked inside the restaurant where the server's station is (oops). The inside was clean and we found our party after wandering aimlessly through the restaurant for a bit. Our server, Cesar was great. Whenever I see a creole type dish no matter where I go, I'll usually order it. Went with the shrimp grits... and yeah, that wasn't what I was expecting. The rest of the party seemed to enjoy their food (fried cod, grouper and clam strips were some of the items ordered). Willing to give them another shot down the line, but not neces...
Although I’ve lived in Louisville my whole life I have to say this was my first time eating at rumors! The food is out of this world. I had the fish sandwich with fries no bread and it was three huge pieces of fish I had leftovers to take home for dinner! I set at the bar and watched the cook!!!! he was amazing he was fantastic he was poetry in motion watching him prepare all this food fresh! If you have not been there go! It is my new go to place for fish and everything else! I cannot wait to go back and try other items from the menu! My next one will be the clam chowder. It’s made from scratch! One of my best dining experiences in a long while!!!
The food was disappointing. We ordered loaded fries, but they came as just a basket of fries with hardly any cheese or toppings. If I wanted plain fries, I would have ordered them. I also ordered mussels steamed in garlic and asked for no Cajun seasoning. What I received were cold mussels with nothing on them. Instead of the butter and garlic I expected on the side, I got a jarred mixture of seasonings in butter that tasted terrible. I definitely cannot recommend this place.
I've been to Rumors many times over the years and I can't believe I've never reviewed them. It's a fun, divey sports bar with an above average, seafood heavy menu. Their grilled fish is good and their seafood pasta salad is tasty and chock full of baby shrimp. Their wings are huge and cooked well and the extra-hot has a nice kick. The service is always hit or miss and it seems pretty disorganized. All that being said, I wouldn't hesitate to return if I was in the area.

1st time coming here will definitely return! Wings were very yummy! They aren’t big like they advertise them to be but they are tasty! The shrimp basket was very good! Wife got the Philly Steak sandwich was great as well! It was a little pricey $47) but you have to expect that nowadays. Also took a little while to get the food but server was sweet. I will definitely be back for those wings! May even order 20 next time!
Loved this restaurant in every aspect… We came on a very busy night with a large party including three children and we’re still taken well care of… Anthony was amazing! The food was excellent across-the-board and the fresh oysters were large and tasty… Everything Anthony suggested was spot on. Nice job with a complicated table on a busy night! We will be back!
Me and my girlfriend visited this advice nobody get what we got at least spent 80 bucks 60 on crab leg meal don’t know what seasoning they use but taste like pool water I wouldn’t even get it to my dogs if you want seafood go somewhere else the nutmeg ain’t hitting on em crab legs !!!
